It isn't the Christian lifestyle I'm referring to. It's Judeo-Christian values (not lifestyle), as an example in our laws of the land.

The holidays you list no longer reflect their christian origins.

That's like saying greece is a pagan nation because of their polytheistic past.

The us is no longer a christain nation in practice. Its culture and laws prove that.

I actually posted about it first... he challenged it and then you posted the "Christianity" of it before me... so I was 1st, you were 2nd and I was 3rd.

The ten commandants were on the door of the courthouse and the manger scene and more was on the city hall lawn come Christmas time. We even said the pledge of allegiance and had a prayer before class while I was in elementary school.

The debate on whether the United States is a Christian nation or not is a recent phenomenon. In a recent Gallup poll 77% of Americans said they were Christian.

In U.S., 77% Identify as Christian

I think with that many Christians in the U.S., that in itself should be enough to convince anyone the U.S. is a Christian nation. In my travels around the world, every country I have been to consider the U.S. a Christian nation. I would assume if you ask those from any other country the question, is the U.S. a Christian Nation and the response would be a resounding yes.

So the debate whether we are or aren’t a Christian Nation is among only a few here, inside this country. That debate has been long settled all over the world.
I think what people are really attempting to challenge is whether or not our government should write laws in accordance with the bible (without secular reason) and elevate Christianity in its public actions.

Individually sure.. as an organization that is tax free based on their religion ... no.. they should not be able to

The poll and the other's disagreeing with all you in this thread evidence enough that your stance is not absolute. Your opinion is of the minority. Your ego is big and shiny though.

Bingo - and when our politicians claim the support of Christianity and the bible for their legislation and when our culture is also thoroughly infused with Christianity, we fall under the exact same heading.

You can cheat all you want. Nothing in our government punishes infidelity
On the contrary, depending on the state it can be punished in a divorce court rather severely, and at the national level if you commit adultery while in the military your commanding officer can have you thrown in jail.

What clothing standards. By law all you have to do is cover your nipples if you are a women and your ass & Va jay jay. That's it.
That is what you call a "standard". A boundary. A border. Here And No Further. Etc.

Honestly it surprises me that you think we have a christian culture here. Especially since so many Christians say the exact opposite.
I am pointing out that by the standards you propose, we are a Christian nation with a Christian culture and a Christian political system.
