If a dude walks into a store with an assault rifle with no intention to commit a crime and the store owner shoots him is that justifiable homicide?
They could ask you leave, if the rifle carrier then did not.... could get legally messy. But to shoot someone in your example is just a straw man. Walking into a store is not going to meet the criteria of "fearing for ones life" that castle doctrine, SYG or whatever requires.
However that is not the same as open carry, which can be justifiable. I however choose not too, but if it is legal then individuals can chose.
