They could ask you leave, if the rifle carrier then did not.... could get legally messy. But to shoot someone in your example is just a straw man. Walking into a store is not going to meet the criteria of "fearing for ones life" that castle doctrine, SYG or whatever requires.

However that is not the same as open carry, which can be justifiable. I however choose not too, but if it is legal then individuals can chose.

No. If there was no threat, then no.

Never bring a car or a knife to a gunfight.

no more than the guy who drove a pick up truck into a school bus full of school kids in Carrollton Kentucky in the late 80s to be "pro" alcohol" or pro "transportation. Mentally deficient gun haters claim that we needed more laws to prevent her actions-ignoring the fact that the single most serious crime you can commit in the USA is assassination of the president. If the consequences of even trying to assassinate President Ford did not deter her, other laws certainly were not going to prevent her from getting a firearm

that is why gun control advocates are pretty much seen as jokes by me and many others who understand criminal law

gun control advocates (at least those who claim they are trying to prevent crime [LOL]) pretend that

    1) those who are not deterred by the threat of 20-to life-for committing bank robbery, armed robbery, murder or rape will be deterred by the punishment imposed by laws that ban firearms or restrict their access to firearms

    2) people who can legally own guns-ie people who have never been convicted of misusing firearms somehow need to have more restrictions placed upon them so they won't do what they have never done

after you examine that it is pretty obvious that almost all gun control advocates are either ignorant/stupid if they really believe their solutions will impede crime or worse, they are liars as to their motivations and really are trying to harass lawful gun owners for reasons that have NOTHING to do with public safety

ps. I very much support 'stand your ground' law, but not the idiots that misinterpret it or their warped version of it.

Unless I had hands coming out of my deltoids, how would I brandish (i.e., hold in a threatening manner) a weapon if it were slung across my back?

Assuming the “dude” is carrying the rifle in a safe, non-threatening manner, and giving no evidence of any belligerent intent, no it would not be justifiable. It would be murder, plain and simple. (Or attempted murder, if the “dude” survives.)

How is your question so one-sided? If the “dude” walks into the store, carrying his rifle, and notices that the store owner has a gun, would you ask whether the “dude” would be justified in shooting the store owner?

    Know what?

Merely being in possession of something that can possibly be misused is not evidence of intent to misuse it.
The five great lies of the Left Wrong:
We can be Godless and free. • “Social justice” through forced redistribution of wealth. • Silencing religious opinions counts as “diversity”. • Freedom without moral and personal responsibility. • Civilization can survive the intentional undermining of the family.
