I like soccer well enough but I find FIFA soccer almost impossible to watch. Every four years I sit down to watch the World Cup but almost instantly turn it off because of all the flopping. Whereas in most sports the games are decided by some combination of size, strength, speed, and strategy, FIFA revolves around who can fall to the ground harder and wail loudest. This has led to plenty of hilarious videos on YouTube but it also highlights a fundamental disadvantage Americans have at soccer tournaments. We rarely do it at all and when we do we do it poorly. Should this be something the United States actually addresses?
