    "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    So none of Buck's definitions apply.

    Also, I didn't see a scope on that rifle. What sniper would use a rifle without a scope?

    The dude was a knucklehead but, sniper, not even close.

    Buck's definitions all included the actual firing of a gun. Since he didn't fire anything, he's not a sniper.

    Someone else brought that up abou the lack of a scope. He would have had a great shot into the air, and maybe killed a bird at best.

    I'm not sure of the rifle type, but if it's a AR-15, you can pick off a man sized target with iron sights @ about 150 yds., bench rest I believe.

    I am not a lawyer but you can threaten someone and/or point a firearm at them. They are not mutually linked.

    So you are suggesting that now snipers are using AR15s without scopes.

    Apparently it is a crime in Nevada. If BLM agents are government officials then it is also a federal crime.

    Nevada Laws re "Drawing / Brandishing Weapon in a Threatening Manner"
    Drawing a knife, firearm, or other deadly weapon in a rude, threatening or angry manner is illegal in Nevada.1 This is also sometime referred to as “brandishing” a weapon. Maximum penalties are $1,000 in fines and 6 months in jail.2 But a skilled lawyer may be able negotiate the charge down to a dismissal. Scroll down to learn the law.

    Brandishing a deadly weapon in a rude or angry manner is a crime in Nevada.
    Definition of drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner

    Drawing or brandishing a weapon is a crime in Nevada if all of the following conditions are met:

    The weapon is a deadly weapon, such as dirks, dirk-knifes, swords, sword canes, pistols, or guns;
    AND
    The drawing or brandishing of the weapon occurs in the presence of at least two (2) other people;
    AND
    The weapon is drawn, brandished, or exhibited in a rude, angry, or threatening manner.3
