the worldwide rise in house prices is the biggest bubble in history. Prepare for the economic pain when it pops

the global housing boom: In come the waves | the economist

regulators and policymakers enabled this process at virtually every turn. Part of the reason they failed to understand the housing bubble was willful ignorance: They bought into the argument that the market would equilibrate itself. In particular, financial actors and regulatory officials both believed that secondary and tertiary markets could effectively control risk through pricing.

You mean AFTER your FIRST post where you ONLY blamed Barney/Dems, or the third one where you were upset because on the second post you didn't blame EITHER party, and I pointed out you blamed Barney/Dems? Weird the 'logic' you guys 'use'....

The ONLY blame in the WORLD WIDE bubble was Bush's failure to regulate in the US housing bubble AS he had warnings. Instead he was the Banksters head cheerleader. Not much blame on the GOP and zero on the Dems for Bush's flawed regulatory oversight. Yes, Greenspan could've helped.

BUT THIS WAS A 'MARKET' CREATED BY BANKSTERS!

Facts are generally things that people agree on. Like Barney Frank minority member of the GOPO House 1995-Jan 2007 could've ran nekkid through the halls of the GOP Majority House and not stopped ONE GOP bill right?

Or Clinton had a surplus, then the GOP passed a $700+ billion tax cut AFTER his first surplus, which Clinton vetoed to get 3 more. See logic would dictate credit goes to Clinton

See those things are FACT based

Gov't causing a world wide credit bubble and bust? Not so much

so tell me, how does clinton get good marks for his presidency, with a republican congress for the first time in 40 years for his 8 years, and reagan gets bad marks when he had a democrat house for his 8 years?

Not much really to do with Bush's regulator failure. Executive branch has FBI, SEC, GSE's, HUD, etc. ONLY in extreme circumstances will they overrule day to day operations. The GOP fault was more in agreeing to 2 UNFUNDED tax cuts, 2 UNFUNDED wars (though only Dems voted against Iraq, 60%) and expanding Medicare, UNFUNDED of course.

80% of the blame, IMO, goes to Bush. 20% to Greenspan... on the Bush subprime recession...

Yes, GOP did do more damage in other areas though too

Yes, You know how to read. And why would Dems be at fault? They have ANY power in the Executive branch? HUD, F/F, FBI, SEC, etc?
