You seem awfully willing to criticize others for supporting Warren. I'd like to know who you've hitched your wagon to. Who does Mr. Libertarian support?

You didn't answer my question. What is an independent bank?

I don't know why the free fall of banks in the 1980s coincided with deregulation, nor have I said it did, nor am I posting about that. The community banks have failed over the years for a number of reasons. They are failing, and their assets are being taken over by the big banks.

The post of mine you copied was in response to another poster who said that community banks have done just fine for 50 years in spite of regulation. You say they had minimal regulation, which was the opposite of what she said. You may want to post that to her.

So when you say "independent bank" in response to my post, what are you talking about?

I've been posting about it. My posts are all over this thread. If you read them, you will find the answers you seek.

Warren is already in Washington, DC. She's a US Senator.

It's hard to understand how a sitting US Senator in Washington DC is a "change". We don't have to send her there. The people of Massachusetts already did that.

Willing and able. Since this thread is about Warren and Hillary - I can tell you I do NOT support (obviously) either one, nor would I be likely to. Funny thing, neither Warren nor Hillary have thrown their hat in for any new election and when the time comes where all the candidates who will run announce, I will take a look at all of them (including these two clowns Hillary and Warren if they run), their policies, their character, their backgrounds and listen politely to what usually ends up to be mostly lies to get elected, and make my decision. Given what I know of both at this moment --- my previous statement stands.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

And you don't think that might be important to know when criticizing re-implementing those regulations? You argue that regulation will harm community banks, yet can't even explain why bank foreclosures skyrocketed in the 80's?

Not really. Elizabeth Warren has stated "Basel III should be applied to large financial institutions, not small banks." She also acknowledges,“Small business can’t park their money overseas or take advantage of special accounting loopholes,” Warren said. “They can’t hire the lobbyists to get them the special hand-crafted, carefully fitted loopholes that give them great deals and nobody else.” U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren looking to regulations to protect small banks and businesses | masslive.com

She is well known to be a threat to the large banking industry and not the small.

What is an independent bank? I keep asking you. Please answer.

The regulations that the CFPB and Dodd-Frank are putting in today aren't old regulations being re-upped.

Do you work in the banking industry or in the financial services compliance industry? If not, you really don't have any first hand or practical experience. I do. I post about what I know, and since I make my living in this industry, it's something I know about. I don't pretend to be a mechanic which is why I would never post in those threads. I have no understanding of foreign policy, which is why I never post in the International Politics section. I practice no religion, which is why I never post in the Religion section. Banking I know.

    What is an independent bank?

Hillary is going to end up as either Obama III or Bush IV. She's too tied up with the corporate menace.

While Warren is not necessarily the most politically qualified candidate, I do believe she is intelligent enough to hire a very competent cabinet and advisers to assist her.
