THAT WAS IN RESPONSE TO YOUR POSIT

"Well, even though we aren't specifically discussing this, here is something quick and very simplified (it is very complex). There is something she was behind called QM/ATR. It's a result of the people who foolishly overextended themselves on their mortgages. QM/ATR severely limits a bank's ability to make a 1-4 family first mortgage loan to consumers. So as time goes on, credit will be more and more scarce, and you will see cries of "we can't get a home loan anymore from our bank/credit union", and the small banks and credit unions will look like the bad guys. There is a very little percentage of Americans who are too dumb to make smart decisions, so Warren, believing that all Americans are too dumb to make smart decisions, have put processes in place in the banks that make it so that there are guidelines to determine what is a good loan versus what is a bad loan. Most Americans didn't get themselves into trouble with overextension and signing contracts for loans they had no chance of repaying. "

No, it actually wasn't. My post had nothing to do with Bush, who you mentioned in your post.

Do you have anything to add about Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton?

    What are independent banks?

Deregulation in the 1980s caused small banks to fail? No. Heavy regulation going forward will cause small banks to fail, which is what I posted about. The quote from CBS sums it all up nicely.

My post was about community banks and the impact regulations that should only be applied to the big banks are having on them, and why they are in very deep trouble going forward. Not sure how your post applies to what I've been saying.

I went with Warren mainly because I figure we'll never get change if we keep sending the same group of people to Washington, D.C.

You see Warren as a change? Really?
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

People who don't understand that the smaller (community) banks are the ones who are helping small business and also consumers as opposed to the large banks have no idea what Warren's "consumer protection" is going to do to this country.
Please specifify how Warren's consumer protections will harm small banks.

How much do you know about Warren? You may want to read up on her positions, policies etc.... that may soften your position. Frankly, if it's between the two I would rather drink myself into a puking stupor as both enlist some of the worst policies progressives have to offer.

Please explain why the free-fall in the number of small banks coincided with deregulation in the 80's.
