Guys it's an art15

This was talked about yesterday on TMZ and you would have thought she killed someone. Harvey was going on about how it's wrong for her to pose in light of recent shootings. His cohosts chimed in on their disdain. What do you think? Do you think this is in poor taste?

Eta- posted before I could make poll options. Made another post with a poll.

Eh. It depends on the circumstances, really.

Like anything else, a picture with a firearm can make for either a fun little photo op, an obnoxiously self-indulgent "selfie," or a blatantly offensive gesture of disrespect. It all depends on who's doing it, where, and for what reasons.

As far as the OP's photo is concerned, however, I don't see a problem in the world with anything that girl is doing.

Edit:

Ah. Didn't realize it was a Duggar girl holding the rifle.

Honestly, the odds are that the only reason this is being talked about at all is because a lot of rabid Left Wingers out there can't stand the Duggar family. It's an almost complete non-issue otherwise.

Re: Posing while holding a gun/rifle

As many at the start of the Appalachian trail by you would say, take only pictures and leave only footprints.
I don't see nothing wrong with it.
In fact my dad took a picture of me when I was ten and he gave me my first .410 with an old brownie camera.
I haven't the faintest idea of what happened to that picture though.
Pictures are forever.
Now shooting copies of the 2,700 pages of ACA is priceless, huh ?

If you are going to pose with a firearm, at least be outdoors.

Otherwise; tacky.

what if you are in an indoor rifle range?

she's posing at a GUN SHOP

Double standard. Her posing doesn't bother me nearly as much as Gilbert Arenas or James Harrison posing.

It's in a gun store. Hardly unreasonable.

She's a girl, in a gun store, posing with a pink rifle. That's basically a "no brainer."

Seriously, if this wasn't a Duggar, and just some random Sorority girl trying to look cute, we never would've even known that it exists.

LOL, yeah, I never thought about that.

There should be some sort of apathetic option. I don't see anything in people posing with guns. They like guns? I don't know.

As for the sexy option, the guns hide their body so nah. Maybe a pistol would be small enough to not hide anything.

what is an ART15. that's part of the UCMJ:mrgreen: its a 22 made to look like an AR 15

I was playing with you. Wanted to see if you'd get worked up:2razz:

OK, I wasn't talking about the photo of the girl in the gun shop. That's fine.

I was talking about anyone here who might be considering posing with their guns. Or, maybe I was just thinking about myself. I would prefer outdoors.

I just don't care for those who would open carry just to get their picture taken. Or, anyone who fancies themself as Client Eastwood.

It's great for the movies, but IRL (unless you're at an indoor range), be photographed using your guns. Posing with them (especially with borrowed, or at the store), is tacky. Just like your hot chicks with guns calendar, it's, quite frankly, tacky.

now here is a hot lady shooter posing indoors with a rifle. This is the lovely Katerina Emmons. At the 2004 Olympics, USA prone rifle event Gold Medalist Matt Emmons was comfortably leading the field in 3 position rifle when he shot the WRONG TARGET and blew a sure second gold medal (in 2008 he again was leading, this time he accidentally shot too early and blew yet another gold medal!). Katerina-who won a gold medal herself in 2008 went up to Matt to comfort him and that led to a romance, a marriage and now a daughter.

nope-when it comes to this subject, I am always accurate:mrgreen:

I'd say there's no greater form of idiocy.

really? posing with a weapon is say more idiotic than french kissing a hamadryad?

holding onto a grenade and throwing the pin?

looking directly at a solar eclipse

running with scissors?

Voting for Obama a second time?

I mean posing with a gun is basically screaming "I need you to pay attention to my hick credentials or my ghetto credentials". It's just stupid. Most people who pose with guns don't even own a ranch to go hunting on, because no self respecting rancher or hunter would pose with guns.

Which goes to say, those who pose with guns are either:

Ultra white trash with no ranches and no hunting lease

or

Ultra minority trash gang affiliates.

It is somewhat ironic that poor white trash and poor minority trash basically have the exact same tendencies. Interesting to say the least.

Uh that's really really STUPID

I have seen hundreds of pictures of people with guns

almost all of them fall into the following groups

1) competitive shooters with their target weapons-like Katerina Emmons or my last picture on this board

2) Hunters with some trophy critter they bagged

3) military men posing with their service weapons.

I'll tell you something else. IF YOU ARE A FELON and you have one of your homies take a picture of you holding a weapon, you just have pretty well established probable cause for a criminal prosecution against you

last year, our criminal chief asked me to identify a target range pictured in a "Selfie" of some thug shooting at the range. he had a picture of himself with a pistol. HE got arrested. Sort of hard to deny you are a felon in possession when you are there on your own phone holding a pistol and then shooting it at a target range with the date on the selfie.

now that I would agree is idiotic. Now the picture my Green Beret Nephew sent me of some unnamed mountain in some place in the ME with him holding his M4 rifle is just plain cool.

How cool is this-the only back to back Olympic skeet Champion in history. Vince Hancock (USAMU) with his Beretta DT-10. Gold medalist 08 and 2012
