The next time we have a surplus why don't we just open up a 24/7 365/yr free resort and send all the liberals there for a rather... "permanent" relocation??

P.S. To my liberal objectors there will be free healthcare... free food... no guns... no religious icons...no work ohhh and the resort owns all of your personal property (The resort does believe in Communistic living afterall). Sounds like liberal heaven doesn't it???

Those radical religious views make a big difference.

I don't think so, it's not doing anything to get them elected to high office, in fact it's hurting them more than anything. They're either going to have to ditch the far-right religious lunatics or risk becoming entirely irrelevant in American political power.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

What's a surplus? Is that like an unicorn, a flying carpet, a leprecaun, Santa Clause, the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny, a pink elephant or a purple squirrel? I have read about such things but surpluses aren't real, are they?

Aren't these two the same thing? I think Mccain tried to avoid discussing abortion. It didn't work too well. Yes, those lunatics are crazy and a hindrance to the Republican Party's Agenda but I can't see how the Republican Party could survive without them. In some districts Congressmen are politically required to give fiery speeches about abortion even though it is a fight that was lost 40 years ago. Why should a congressman in South Carolina give up his job just to make some Republican in New York happy?

I still recommend this as a strategy to the Democratic Party: Outlaw abortion and re-write the 2nd Amendment that guarantees unlimited gun rights. If the Democrats would do this, the Republican Party wouldn't exist.

In this day of Keynesian-madness/Krugmanomics free spending, that is surprising to me...and slightly encouraging.

Its easy to vote in a poll. How many are actually willing to sacrifice their pet projects when this magic surplus materializes? I know the politicians arent. Are any of those people who voted to pay off debt, besides me, willing to vote against an establishment politician who would want to spend it?

What happened last time we had budget surpluses from 1998-2001? Spending went up, and then we got some tax cuts. No debt was paid off.

    This is a good point.

Partisan bickering really helps. Get over the red vs. blue team, they both sell you down the river for a quick buck. Why can't you die hard fans of both teams realize this?

I commonly say, "Cut the service that benefits me most." "Cut his but don't you dare cut mine" is a mentality that leads to the normalcy that we have now. A true conservative should say, "Cut the service that benefits me most.". If he/she can't say that then they are full of s*** and get zero respect from me.

Would you award that same amount of respect to the Democrat who can't/won't agree with your common saying?
