Why am I insensitive or racist if I find this wrong?[W:54]

More immigrant kids arrive in Arizona

"The federal government on Friday began sending hundreds of unaccompanied children caught crossing the border illegally in Texas to a holding center in Nogales, Ariz., further straining relations with Gov. Jan Brewer, who was already angry over the recent release of hundreds of undocumented families at bus stations in Phoenix and Tucson."

I was told that we should be donating supplies to them b/c they are in need of hygiene products. Some are complaining b/c of the conditions at the detention center. Nobody told them to come.We already have identity fraud here, and tapped out resources, but if we state these facts, we're insensitive.

Says who? Seems your problem might be being oversensitive.

One doesn't have be racist to be against illegal immigration...but many (or perhaps most) who are the most vocal against illegal immigration are racist at least to some extent.

That said, illegal immigration is illegal...but there's only one way to fix it - and that's not with a wall or cracking down on employers or lining the border with armed troops or forcing illegal immigrants (and especially their children) to hide in the shadows all their lives. The ONLY way to stop illegal immigration is to somehow make Mexico's economy successful (and safe) to the point to where the people no longer feel the need to come here to feed their families. Otherwise, they will always find a way here, wall or no wall. The proof lay in the fact that during the Great Recession and the two years or so afterwards, we had zero net illegal immigration - just as many were going home as were coming here.

    That's the only way. Period.

Do that, and there will be no need to build a taxpayer-funded wall or line the border with taxpayer-funded troops or both. But what is to be done with the ones that are already here, who are living peaceful and productive lives, who ARE paying taxes and are NOT presenting a danger to society? Give them a pathway to citizenship. Tearing families apart is not the American way.

Build up Mexico's economy to where the people no longer feel the need to flee - that's the only way to fix illegal immigration. Period.

Identity fraud doesn't work the way you think it does. You're more likely to be robbed of your identity by an apple pie eating American than a Mexican. As a matter of fact, identity theft is of no use to the overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants. If anything, an illegal immigrant stealing your identity wouldn't benefit them in the long run. As technology becomes more widely used to verify identities, an illegal immigrant who steals your identity would be paying taxes towards your retirement and not theirs. If anything, we should pass a law that REQUIRES the SSA to notify citizens when their SSN is being used in multiple places, E-Verify should be made mandatory in all 50 states and punished by jailtime and states should give their local law enforcement agencies (PD) the power to fine companies not complying.

Re: Why am I insensitive or racist if I find this wrong?

Because liberals try to discourage people from talking about things by throwing around words like "racist" and "sexist". I entirely support stopping all illegal immigration by any means necessary, but it doesn't matter where the illegals are coming from, I don't care what their skin color is, I don't want any of them here at all. It's not racist, it's realistic.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Anyone claiming someone is a racist or xenophobe for not supporting illegal immigration is merely resorting to the race card because their arguments for supporting illegal immigration are weak. Making false claims of racist or xenophobia is a common tactic of the pro-illegals side.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Cicero Marcus Tullius
