Does the good America has done, outweigh the bad?

The impact of the United States of America on the world has been undeniable. In weighing the good and the bad of our nation as a whole, does the good America has done at home and abroad, outweigh the bad?

Is the role of the US a net positive, or net negative in the world?

How would you want to define and weigh 'good' or 'done'?
Just looking at the number of jobs the USA has created with its policy of free trade would seem pretty 'good' in some way.

If we are talking about all our actions good and bad since we have become a nation, then absolutely yes. However, these past decades, we have been losing our morals. We are now in a downhill slide and currently, doing more harm to the world than good.

"Has done" --- past tense, it the key to this response of mine.

The world needs a superpower and since the end of World War Two America has played a vital role in avoiding global conflict and has contributed billions in humanitarian aid. Scandals like the NSA hurts America's reputation but with a divided Europe and an unstable Asia America is still the Worlds only hope when it comes to enforcing law and acting as negotiator

Agreed, since the 1960's the US has lost its morals and society in general is being dumbed down. Paradoxically we have more access to news and data but we also are becoming a nation of robots.

Agreed, though one also wonders if the world would prefer a Russo-Chinese alliance as the worlds "superpower". I think Russia and China are going to make europe and asia a whole lot less stable soon enough.

I know the UK will always look to the US for foreign policy However the past 6 years has been a mess with no real constant message coming from the White House.

On the message from the White House, I dont think anyone can make sense of it. I suspect the US, UK, and commonwealth nations will continue to be close allies.
