And you don't see the US as an exceptional nation. Maybe not right now in context thanks to our muslim president from Kenya.

Nope. I see it as a nation no different to many others. We have many good things about our country, and many bad things.

Maybe not right now in context thanks to our muslim president from Kenya.
Yup. We went there. Obama is still a Muslim president from Kenya. Let the conspiracies fly!

Actually thats not entirely true. Many national liberation causes that are also socialist use nationalism. They use nationalism as an anti-imperialist ideology for their liberation. Examples of this would be Fatah, DFLP, Black Panthers, Partisan movements during WW2, etc.

Limitation is limitation. As far as many European countries see it hatred is a "negative right". Calling for a race/ethnicity to die/be deported/undermine them can be a "negative right".

    Uh. Yes..
As far as I can tell it really doesnt except it makes some people warm and fuzzy inside. Many western countires dont have that wording in their founding documents and the same rights that we respect are respected in their country as well.

I believe that America is exceptional in many ways. I don't think there is any other country where I would rather live. We have a little bit of everything here, which is just one of the perks of America. Being a melting pot has it's advantages.

There are forms of socialism that have operated on a nationalist basis, but you'd have to say that Marx was fairly clear that nationalism is a bourgeois construction of post-feudal capitalism. At best he argued that it could be a feature of the transitional phase between capitalism and communism. For me there seem to be too many inherent conflicts for nationalism and socialism to be compatible.

Of course in the context of Marxian socialism that he makes it pretty clear that nationalism is a disease. They say, ""the working class have no country ". But in context of national liberation many socialist parties/guerilla groups (even if they claimed to be marxist or not) did use nationalism as a way to forward their struggle for national liberation.
