Hmmmm.... did I say it was a big deal, I simply said **** happens and the 10 Commandments are rather well known and documented so the mistakes are not cultural but human. More so the private citizen/lawmaker who paid for the 10C monument didn't notice the errors until AFTER it was set-up and others pointed it out to him....

The white knuckle rage some on this website have over the local memorial seems bit much, the guy defending the monument is an 81 year old Korean War vet and some wag is calling him out to be investigated for kick-backs??!!!

My uncle was a master sergeant who fought in WWII and Korea--my mother received his personal effects including military stuff when he came back gravely injured and not expected to live. He did live for another 10 years but was never really well again. He was estranged from his wife but my Mom gave all the stuff to his kids when they were old enough to appreciate them.

But among that stuff was very much a military issued poncho--a large flat rubbery thing with a hole for a hood in the center of it.

This is an authentic Korean War poncho demonstrated by a modern era person. The WWII issued ponchos didn't have a hood--those had been added by the Korean conflict.
