I support it because its better than what we had, covers more people, and forces the insurance companies to do the right thing.
I am not so sure it covers more people. The only stat we really have to go on is the number who signed up on the exchanges. And since the administration is not releasing the breakdowns on that, we can assume that most who signed up on the exchanges were either already qualified for medicare or had insurance prior to the ACA....such as many of the citizens kicked off their existing individual policies. And as we are finding out, the insurance available on the exchanges is limited in regards to participating doctors and hospitals. When all is said and done, it is possible that more will be they might insured...however....the vast majority of Americans will be stuck on high premium plans with deductables ranging from $6000.00 to $12,000.00. Technically they will be insured, however the policies will amount to little more then very expensive catastrophic policies.

Yep. The top justice suddenly became an activist judge.

It will likely be modified to the point of repeal. The individual and employer mandates will ultimately go down in flames. And without them......Obamacare is as dead as Osama Bin Laden.

So what you are suggesting is that "something is better then nothing...even if that something is worse then what already existed".

The odd thing is that he seems to see it as just the opposite of judicial activism - by letting our congress critters (the will of the people) control as much as possible. I fully agree with you that taxation being based upon how income was not later spent was never the intent of the 16th amendment.

You can forget about single payer. It's not going to happen. The lieberals barely managed to get obamacare passed. And they had to bribe members of their own party to get it done.

Obamacare is very bad for me but it is good for the country. I think everybody will agree with me. I have to pay more than I did before. It's a sneaky tax that will solve some of the nation's problems. Liberals should be against it because it raises revenues and reduces expenses. Conservatives should be for it because it raises revenues and reduces expenses.

For some reason it is the other way around. That's got me pretty puzzled. Are all conservatives complete liars?
I do not agree with you.

But that doesn't mean those ideas don't deserve consideration. That's what's so pathetic about liberals/progressives/Democrats. Y'all would rather screw over our country by shoving something like Obamacare down our throats than consider alternatives.
I would assume since you are indicating you have answers....that you actually had something in mind. BOth you and I know the devil is in the details and you haven't even produced a semblance of a framework, let alone details.

What are they going to do with the 30 million or so that still don't have insurance?

I don't CARE if there are some good components in Obamacare. There are very very few really bad laws that have no redeeming features to them whatsoever. And the few good components could have been addressed and accomplished without taking control of the entire system.

I oppose Obamacare because it is unconstitutional; most of it is very bad law that takes away the rights of the people in favor of an ever larger, more expensive, more intrusive, more authoritarian, more totalitarian central government for the benefit of a privileged permanent political class; and it is likely to complete the destruction of the finest medical system the world has ever known.
Unconstitutional and authoritarian....pretty much says it all.
