It has nothing to do with what the NBA owners think. The question was about how I would vote. I answered the poll question.

There are many others in the thread that agree with my thinking. Is there any particular reason you're more interested in why *I* feel that way than why the others do?
IOW, you don't believe in contracts?

Personal property rights IMO trump an NBA contract.

    That is all.
But, a franchise is not like "personal property" with exclusive rights. It is in effect a license contract, with many requirements. You break the contract, you forfeit your claim to the license.

Then you'd vote to take force him to sell. I wouldn't.

    Simple as that.

I understand you need to keep it simple, I understand you don't see a difference between franchise/license and "private property" and I understand that you cannot elaborate on your reasoning.

The rules state the owners can vote another out and there by forcing that owner to sell the team.

Here is a list of the others who also voted no. You probably want to know all of their reasons why too, yes?

I wouldn't vote to take away something that another person paid for. My opinion is that personal property trumps NBA contracts. Simple as that. I also think that he didn't do anything that would justify removing his rights as an owner. Simple as that part 2. Which is why I would vote no.

Which is why I would vote no. If I were an owner, I would have a right to vote. That's what this poll was all about.

No, I am asking you to "explain your position". If you cannot beyond "private property, simple as that", well there you are.

License is not "ownership", it is a lease, so your "trump" is false.

His racist comments do damage the brand and violate the terms of the license contract.

With all do respect, you don't know how how you would vote, because you're not an owner of a team. You very likely would see the whole thing in a different light if you were an owner. I believe the OP writer should have specified this in the OP.
