You said it was because "it is his private property".......but it is not "private property" with exclusive rights, allowing the damaging of the brand without consequence. If you think a brand can flourish with owners spouting racist comments or damaging the brand in other ways (and this isn't the first issue with DS), you just don't understand a business like the NBA.

He paid for the franchise. It's his property. I don't believe in collectively forcing someone to sell what he paid for.

It has nothing to do with what the NBA owners think. The question was about how I would vote. I answered the poll question.

There are many others in the thread that agree with my thinking. Is there any particular reason you're more interested in why *I* feel that way than why the others do?

So then an owner can do anything, can damage the brand in real terms.....and the franchisees should not, cannot, strip that franchisee of his/her rights?

You are being put into the shoes of other owners, you are being asked what you would do in this circumstance.....because their vote is what matters.

I can ask anyone, anyone can choose to respond, debate....or not. I'm not forcing you to answer anything you don't want to. But if you are secure in your beliefs, you can express them, defend them.

    Horse bump.

If you had a vote in that situation
, would you vote "Yes" to force him to sell the team, or do you think he shouldn't be forced to see his team and vote "no".

After you vote, please explain your position.

I am putting myself in the shoes of the owners. And I would vote no.

I wouldn't vote to force someone to sell what he paid for. Simple as that.

I'm sure the others in the thread have different reasons for voting no so they may be more interesting to ask their reasons. My reason is what it is, and I've already said it a few times, including just now.

This kind of parlance, that employees are bought, traded and owned is common and accepted in the sports industry.
It's time, I think, to ask why that is.
No, players aren't owned. They are under contract.

So, franchisees can violate the terms of the contract......because....."ownership rights" trump the terms of the contract?

For the 5th time, I wouldn't vote to take away someone's personal property.

Personal property rights IMO trump an NBA contract.

    That is all.
