    So there you have it, folks, he has finally apologized.

    Now the next question is, should his fines and penalty be rescinded or not?

    The fines and penalty should not be rescinded. But anyone who sincerely asks for forgiveness, should be forgiven.

    I think so. This should have never happened as his comments were made in private anyway. If he had gone out and said something outside a place with the reasonable expectation of privacy, then I could understand these consequences.

    Why shouldnt the fines/penalties be rescinded? People were waiting for the apology werent they? Now that he did it, why should there be further retribution?

    Actually, if it hadn't occurred within the historical context of all the racist garbage that has occurred in this country, the whole thing could have been swept under the rug. But unfortunately, that's not the case.
