Here's a question for you supporters of Angela Davis 40+ years after the fact:

What would you say of a person now who supports a violent replacement of government to include race riots? Never mind, you can see it here - you call them racists and teabaggers and whatever pejorative you can pull out of your insult bag. You wouldn't be caught dead calling them brilliant, or fawning over them.
Where would one find this information you profess to be true?

As radicals and fanatics of the day were wont to do, she ended up going a little too far. She had no place then in the UC system.

Although you made sure to post allegations only, what you deliberately left out was

Davis was tried and the all-white jury returned a verdict of not guilty. The fact that she owned the guns used in the crime was judged not sufficient to establish her responsibility for the plot.

You have nothing. She was innocent and was proven innocent of those charges in a court of law.

But...but...J. Edgar said she was a dangerous negress and he would never lie.

Yeah, he likely had people record sex tapes of her so he could get is perverse rocks off.

Naw...ole J. was a "bun buster."

J. Edgar Hoover led a deeply repressed sexual life, living with his mother until he was 40, awkwardly rejecting the attention of women and pouring his emotional, and at times, physical attention on his handsome deputy at the FBI, according to the new movie, "J. Edgar," directed by Clint Eastwood.

In public, Hoover waged a vendetta against homosexuals and kept "confidential and secret" files on the sex lives of congressmen and presidents. But privately, according to some biographers, he had numerous trysts with men, including a lifelong affair with Tolson.

It would not surprise me.

The thing they don't like about Angela is that she was brilliant, she could think, she was about substantial change, and she was not going to sell out. She wasn't someone they could wrap in a nice package and use to put forward the agenda of enriching the few at the expense of the majority.

True...to some those types are the most dangerous.

Of course she is dangerous to such people because Angela is one of those very intelligent people that has the ability to make others actually think about how a few rich people are exploiting everyone else without any regard to the welfare of those they exploit. The reality is that real wages have stagnated while the wealthy have significantly increased their wealth. The resulting income inequality manifests itself with people having to work sometimes two and three jobs, just to survive. But if you say that, such people will say that you are only lazy and that you are not working hard enough. I always say that trickle down economics will go down in history as one of the biggest scams of all time. Give me all your money and I will trickle it back down to you. What an amazing idea. Angela has opposed all that, that's why she was persecuted.

Can you actually provide some references that show that Angela Davis advocated the violent overthrow of the government and fomented race riots?

I really like Angela Davis. I wish she were running for president. Here's some words of wisdom from one of the great minds of the 21st century

“It may be helpful to have these moments when we recognize that racism is still very much embedded in the psyches of so many people in this country. But to think that we can deal with it simply by addressing particular individuals and not think about the fact that, as a society, we bear the imprint of that historical racism — I’m much more interested in having conversations about the way the structures of racism continue to operate.

“Even though people who express racist ideas may be treated in the way Donald Sterling is being treated, that doesn’t address, for example, the impact of [anti-affirmative action Proposition] 209 — that there are proportionally fewer black students on campuses than during the 1970s.”

Right on Angela Davis!!!!!
