Not all discrimination is unjust, not all discrimination is bigotry. And not all bigotry is racism. I understand, these are concepts beyond the average Joe, but these are the facts.
Less qualified candidates are selected because of the color of their skin, that is inherently racist. If minorities have it so bad off why don't we fix their quality of education instead of trying to drag others down?

Why should race even be on a college or job application?

    Wrong.

Words of concern that are not of disparagement, hatred or intolerance, are words of concern that are not of disparagement, hatred or intolerance.
You have to take them out of context to suggest they are of disparagement. Unintentional or otherwise.

It is dishonest to say otherwise.

And secondly, a persons oversensitivity does not make the words unintentionally racist either.

Its remarkable how many lefties just can't see how racial quotas, affirmative action, or the belief that people can't compete because of their skin color is in itself the very definition of racism. At no point are the achievements of the individual mentioned-rather its reflexively dismissed as racist. Please, surely the left can advance the argument beyond this.

To me, AA is biased but definitely not racist.

I was talking to someone in this thread about the rhetorical tools of old fools. You know when you are talking to an old fool when they start relying on the use of terms, that have been inaccurately associated with negative concepts, instead of actually debating on substance. Such fools rely on terms such as quotas to cloak their old rotten malice. So when you here that term "quota" invoked, you should know for sure, you are talking to an old fool.

I was just thinking that, actually stronger AA implementations of AA are needed to counter the influence of embittered old white men on corporate power. There should be quotas for fortune 500 companies to rid the atmosphere of their old malice.

    Thanks for clearing that up!
If you and others who believe that affirmative action measures should solely have a punishment aspect to them (and therefore those actions rarely succeed), I say screw it. I you want to, for example, eliminate all offensive words from American vocabulary (which isn't your goal, it's punishment), I'd say you'd agree negro in all its forms should be completely eliminated from American utterance... by everyone. Or any other offensive word (like cracker or racist).

I just read the previous post... Hey MikiSteel, you and others who think the same as you could really benefit (and so could AA actions) if you read my post.

Some of these old fools see these black athletes on TV and then they become envious. Actually Freud missed this aspect of penis envy. So some of them are envious, and they see that they are old and worn out, but they have some money. So they want to use their money to substitute for a penis.
