    What the heck??

It doesn't mean any of that. The point is that Obama's election to the position of president does not mean that racism has ended in the US to such an extent that AA is no longer necessary. Rather, the racist hate that has been directed at Obama is evidence that it hasn't.

In response to the poll question

Some AA programs CAN be racist, if they use race to make a decision.

Background is a far more accurate yardstick for who may need AA help.

Given the situation some black persons are in, it would probably be the same thing, in some cases - for example if you look at the background of disadvantaged black persons in a run-down area, it's not race that causes the disadvantage, so much as the area/culture they live in.

Not sure where you got that out of my post. I don't care if you're here or not. You're whining about the posts, not me.

The subject of the poll is Affirmative Action. Good grief. Either we need it or we don't. Racist hate. Yes, that terrible racist hate has made it so that no black person can succeed in this country, so the government has to help blacks succeed - is that it?

Is Obama an Affirmative Action success story, or isn't he? If he isn't, then he's proof that AA isn't needed.

But please, by all means, keep complaining about the big bad racists on the anonymous message board.

"Racism" towards minority groups is rarely seen in Western Cultures and is inconsequential because governments and society will no longer tolerate it_

In fact, the worst 20th Century stigma one can have attached to them is "RACIST"!

Can you produce an actual example of a racist "obstacle the blacks must constantly endeavor to overcome"

I'm pretty sure there are rational explanations other than racist bigotry for the "obstacles" you alluded to_

I do realize from experience that 90% of what is called "racist garbage" is actually Political Incorrectness_

There's a whole lotta forbidden language and taboos that will automaticly get you labeled a "racist" ya know_
The left in particular seeks to control the speech and thoughts of others through PC. And agreed, most of what is reflexively (and frankly ignorantly) called racism is actually just being politically incorrect.

And for the record, I like your old avatar more.

There is definitely some truth to that. Right now the NBA is trying to force some guy to sell his team merely because he used some racial epithets when he got in a recorded personal argument with a negro prostitute.

I'm not whining. I don't know where you got that from. I just said some people post racist garbage here.

Fredrick Douglas succeeded despite slavery. Does that mean there was no need to end slavery?

that's a politically correct way of saying that blacks cannot earn the same grades or SAT scores as other kids.
