Glock 9mm in the side table, 12 gauge with a 15 round sling (5 slugs, 10 buckshot) not too far away.

Only had to grab the 12 gauge once for home defense, fortunately the guy backed off of bashing down my door once he heard that I had it.

Fiscally conservative, socially liberal - revolver in night stand by bed, the rest is locked in a gun safe in basement.

How you want me to vote in your poll?

I want everyone to vote. I could not include every political mix in the poll so just decide if you lean more right than left or vice versa.

Yes, across my night table to the left side of the bed is my backpack containing my sawed off Saiga-12 and the easy chair at the right side of the bed has my holstered 1911-A1.

My politics have nothing to do with a desire to defend my home and family.

No gun by the bed and I sleep on the left side of the bed.

.22 beside the back door, Marlin 30-30 locked up downstairs.
Liberal as all get-out.

I keep non-lethals in the immediate vicinity of the bed and at certain places throughout the house. I have a firearm within easy access but not right next to the bed as well as in my office. I also have two dogs that get very excited to see strangers (and to see raccoons...but thats another story).

No, but I keep a lightsaber by my bed.

I think so, I'd have to look to make sure. If I do it's not loaded. Locked doors and doggie alarms are enough for around here.

I have not purchased a gun yet, but my grandson keeps encouraging me to. My house was buglarized in February. So far all I have is a dog and an alarm system. My grandson wants me to get the same kind of gun he has---a Glock 17.

I keep a shotgun in the back of the bedroom closet. No gun within arms reach though.

We have a Glock 19 in an easy access lock box under the bed
we have a Mossberg Military shotgun in the closet behind our bedroom-since my kid is 16 and a competitive shooter it is no longer locked
I have a hand forged Katana within two steps of my bedroom as well

My son's room upstairs has a gun safe and in it is a 20 g Mossberg semi auto "tactical shotgun" and a Colt M4 carbine

That is my daughter's weapon of choice.

good idea-one of my best friends has two daughters-one is a senior in HS, the other a Junior at Purdue. when the older one started driving, I gave her a "COLD STEEL" (mainly a knife maker) a plastic baseball bat to keep in the car she drove. She was an "all league" softball player and tall meaning a baseball bat was a weapon she could both use effectively and given her proven participation in the sport-easy to justify her having a baseball bat on her given that this bat works great for softball as well as bashing assholes!

Wait a minute, I just realized I couldnt vote in this because as a single parent I sleep in the middle of the king sized bed and I have guns on both sides. How do I vote? :unsure13:

I really need to get one of those. I used to keep my .380 under the mattress but after my daughter was born, I moved it to a more secure location but not very easy access.

Dogs are a great alarm system. Good thing my dog, while being a huge baby, looks all mean and tough. Plus I saw somewhere that according to statistics, houses with dogs are much less likely to be robbed.

Remind me not to break into your home in the middle of the night.

I just have this image of a grown man cuddling in bed with his guns. Certainly an unusual menage a trois, right?
