I don't advocate getting involved in any foreign business.

It is not our concern, costs us tons of money, and gets us nothing.
Hopelessly simplistic.

You think these girls being kidnapped by animals is the only bad thing going on in the world?

It is if you actually care about your country's sovereignty.

Sovereignty is an imaginary concept that we propagate because it has utility to our civilization. It doesn't have an especial intrinsic value or worth. It's valuable because of what it does for us. More to the point I'm not sure how this intrudes on our sovereignty in the slightest. The United States is great because of the ideas we represent and champion which in turn allows us to produce a more peaceful and stable world.

Secondly of course this isn't the only awful thing, or even the worst thing, going on in the world. What kind of argument is that against action?

No foreigner is worth the life of my fellow countrymen or the tax dollars we paid.As a globalist you could care less about such things, You would probably sacrifice the life of a family member to save the life a stranger.

So we should jump in like superman anytime someone does something horrible to someone else?

This is exactly what should happen at the present time. It's been several weeks. We can't send in special ops to swoop them up and bring them home . . . but we can help bring the perps to justice.

As we should.

So you want to impart US justice on other countries?

Or you just want the US to enforce another country's laws on it's people?

How would you feel with another country coming on US soil to correct 'injustice'?

I don't think so.

There is no 'we' here, just them.

They asked for our help. We're giving them our help. I'm all for it. If ever there was a reason to help another country? Kidnapping 300 kids and selling them into slavery by a man who has the audacity to speak out about it ranks #1 in my book. Hunt him down. And kill him.

Completely accurate to intelligent historians.
:lamo That's hilarious. Anyone who claims that involving ourselves in foreign affairs: (A) Is not our concern, or (B) "Gets us nothing" is neither intelligent or a historian.

we dont need help with our problems from any country anyway!!!! but maybe we could get putin to make the nevada cattle rancher to pay his bill to the blm lol

I think the U.S. Military should stay out of it.

But I think Obama should gain permission from Nigeria (or where ever these girls at being held) for privately funded groups to go in and find them.

Of course, Obama would never do this because these groups would be competition for the U.S. militaries foreign policy.

Btw, if such a group exists and gets clearance and I were eligible - I believe I would volunteer for it. There are few causes I would be willing to die for...but this is one of them.

'It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool'

I think since the africans are going to sell the girls we should just buy them. Amazing how africans still practice slavery but nothing ever gets done about it. Thank god crackas found slavery wrong and fought to free the slaves

Does America have the right to interfere in another country's culture/religion? This is what this is. I was under the impression that all cultures are equal and we should be embracing differences, isn't that the mantra! Yet, here we are, condemning another culture/religion, and anyone who thinks it is not cultural/religious is very much mistaken.

This sort of thing happens daily/weekly/monthly, it's just that sometimes it makes it to international news and sometimes it doesn't. It is like the outrage that occurs when a woman somewhere is honour-killed. One case makes it to the international news and people raise their fists to the air, shout and carry on and then go about their business and forget the thousands upon thousands of honour-killings that happen every year. Slavery is a fact of life in Africa and the Middle East and has been for thousands of years and its not going to change anytime soon. Not one cent of foreign aid - economic, medical, military - should go to any country that has any kind of system of slavery, honour-killings, FGM, child brides etc. etc. Hmmmmm, most Muslim countries in other words, and of course others like India.

No point in asking the UN to get involved. The UN is too busy condemning Israel for existing, they have no time to deal with unimportant things like slavery and other interesting cultural/religious happenings in the world!

I say sure if he volunteers. Strap a gun on his back and send him in!

If it is possible we should of course intervene. Civilization demands it.

They're not civilized. Where did you get the idea that the U.S. gets to impose our views on everyone else, just because we have the military strength to do it? Civilization demands that we let Nigeria act in accordance with their own laws.

Because we can. We don't need any 'right'.

Of course we can condemn their idiotic "culture". It is crap and they are barbarian pieces of crap.

1. I think since the africans are going to sell the girls we should just buy them.

2. Amazing how africans still practice slavery but nothing ever gets done about it.

3. Thank god crackas found slavery wrong and fought to free the slaves

1. Kinda funny...

2. Lots is changing there... takes time and conflict though. Read some history.

3. Wh . Wh . Wh . What? I have to assume that this is another attempt at humour.

Still not politically correct to do so.

Political correctness is garbage. It is a primarily leftist vehicle used to curb freedom of speech and attack anybody that disagrees with them in a Straw Man effort to put them on the defensive instead of talking about the topic... I would argue that it might not be polite though... but nobody should be constrained to what is termed politically correct.

Totally agree with you...that's my point really.
