The prices remained the same in the PX, but when one checked out if the last digit or cost ended in 1 or 2 it was rounded down to 0, 3 and 4 upped to 5, 6 and 7 down to 5 and 8 and 9 up to ten. No pennies.
I still have a pile of Susan B. Anthony and Sacajawea coins lying around somewhere. Never used them.

I got some too, but where is the question.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Yeah I hear you, I'm sure they're with my 1976 $2 bills, lol. I do however know exactly where my dad has his stash of pre-1964 coins.

I still have a couple Eisenhower dollar coins, now that size of dollar coin I think would be acceptable. 2 dollar bills, I have some of them around too. Matter of fact I have some silver certificates of different denominations. You don't see them floating around anymore either. Back when I was a kid, they abounded a plenty. Then collectors started scarfing them up. How about the JFK and Ben Franklin 50 cent piece. I don't have a Liberty half dollar, but I remember them.

What would be the point of that?

Keep the dollar bill. Coins are too cumbersome.

Someone mentioned earlier that bills and coins might become obsolete in a few decades. It does seem to be going that way. Perhaps a refillable cash card? I could probably go for something like that as long as there weren't any fees, penalties or interest involved. I don't think people should be charged for using their own money.

    Poll open for one year!
If the point were to make a new coin of silver or other PM worth a dollar, giving them actual value, then I could see it. Otherwise it's not going to happen.

If anything we might see the dissolving of cash altogether in the near future for electronic currency and credit. I heard one of the only reasons that hadn't occurred was though the gov't would surely get more tax money that gets hidden by small businesses, the economy would actually be more hurt by the loss of criminal financial transactions that occur almost exclusively in cash. I thought that had to be total BS, but apparently it's an actual factor because of the sheer volume.

Besides, they've made the Sacagawea dollar coin in 2000 to replace the Susan B.Anthony dollar coin and neither were particularly popular.
