And his reality show is top notch television. It's like Jeopardy, only if Alex Trebek was a completely irredeemable asshole.

I think we're staring a Bruins-Blackhawks final straight in the face. Definitely not the Sharks; they're doing their annual rite-of-spring gag job out west.
    Yup!

I want to be careful and not derail this thread so I'll leave you with this thought. Go Blackhawks (assuming the Boys in Blue get their asses kicked tonight, or by the Pens)! I love Quenneville, who shares my passion for horse racing.

Coming from the NBA? I'll have to say yes, the NBA is a group of giant hypocrites. I do think Sterling should be punished, but this seems a reach too far. In fact one that seems destined to end up in the courts, particularly when it comes to the forcing of Sterling to sell the team. But then again, if he sells the team he'll only be enriched further, so it is a punishment but one that will line his pockets.

What I can't get, is aside from money, why would a racist want to own an NBA team?

Trebek is an asshole. I hate how he doesn't let the contestants talk during their 15 second "get to know you" interview. GRRRRRR.

Isn't the irony of that funny, or weird, or something? Not only that, but the old pervert's chippy is also half-black. This guy is a mass of contradictions. He either has the early onset of Alzheimers, or the poor bastard has syphillis and it's affecting his brain.

Morning, Buck. What was missing from his punishment? I think we stopped hanging people for being assholes right around the time we stopped pressing people to death for being witches.

I like your posts already but here's my beef.

The poster in question stated that it was "hypocrisy" to fry this guy's behind simply because of speech he made.

This guy has a First Amendment right to say what he want and I defend that. However First Amendment right carry responsibilities and consequences.

I'm Black, African American, etc I have been called a nigger to my face, had people cross the street when seeing me, white women get that deer in the headlights thing, etc.

I'm middle class, never been arrested as an adult or Juvenile, I don't even have any traffic or parking tickets. My background is cleaner than most and I dress casually, expensively, no sagging.

This guy's racism has been proven to factually and substantially harm Blacks and minorities. He has gotten away because of his money and influence which makes his racism all that much more insidious. Do you honestly think that this guy has made business and personal decisions that have hurt people very badly??

This is the kind of guy that would see me and based on nothing but my skin color say, "don't offer him the position", "don't award him to contract.", etc

His racism carries the power to damage and this last episode was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.

So when some claims that it is "hypocrisy" that this guy is being shunned and punished, I can't help but question their ideologies.

You take that back. Alex only cuts them off when they start getting too verbose.

FUN FACT: My absolute lifelong dream has been to get on Jeopardy. And it's gonna happen someday. You do NOT want to go against me in bar trivia.

Go Sabres oh thats right season's over bleh

Horse gal, eh? Shoulda guessed. Been to Saratoga several times; always a blast. And I always seem to do well there betting on the ponies.

But yes, enough with the derail, although the thread needed the breather.
