We have laws to protect people from racism so your opinion should be a right and you should not be punished for what you believe. IMO firing someone for being a racist is anti American and flies in the face of free speech.
Thinking what you wish is a right, therefore being a racist is a right.

Acting upon your racist thoughts however, is not a right in every circumstance. For instance, you have the right to discriminate in your private life and associate with or not associate with whomever you wish.

You also have the right to free speech, so you can verbalize your racism if you wish. The general public however, has the right to either accept and approve of your speech or shun and ostracize you for your speech.

What you do not have the right to do, is to act on your racism in a form or format where you have control over others in a public forum. For instance, if you own a company, you do not have the right to discriminate against others in the name of and on behalf of the company.
Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want a different result, don't blame someone else, or expect others to make a change, you should stop complaining and make a different choice. Remember, the circumstances of your birth don't determine the outcome of your life.

    That's another issue altogether.

Nice blog refernece, Lybia could not effectively fire back, was very limited and led by NATO. Instead of throwing thousands of made up offenses at the wall to see if one sticks, pick one out and lets disuss it.

Fan base does not value the team.

Not likely. A team's value isn't based on fan support.

He'll lose some sponsors, and gain some.

Why do you think this will help him gain some sponsors?

and then they wonder why blacks vote for the other party in disproportionate numbers
