So let me get this straight. The right thinks it's ok to fire people because they are gay, but not if they are racist?

Having one's own personal opinion is a right.

Expressing one's own personal opinion, IMO, is also a right.

Being free from consequences in a free market is not a right, though one *should* know better in today's society than to express statements that are obviously going to be unpopular.

Example: Regarding the current Donald Sterling affair. He has a right to his opinion. He has a right to express his opinion. Others have a right to verbalize their opinions of displeasure. Others have a right to express their displeasure in the forms of boycotts, etc. No problem. I stop short at calls for having his team taken from him... barring something in the NBA Constitution that says it can be done, which it is my understanding that there is no such provision.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

Not part of the OP, he can do what he wants. Its his company. Even if he loses the team, he makes millions because worse come to worse, the league will buy the team and pay him what its worth.

Absolutely people have a right to be racist, sexist, whatever. The government should have no more control over peoples' minds then over peoples' bodies.

Whatever you call it, there's no "right" involved. Though I think people who want to reinvent the term are more guilty of childish behaviour.

The government did not punish him, so obviously there is no violation of free speech rights. Just because you are ignorant of the meaning of the term, that does not mean those reacting to him are anti-American. It just means you are ignorant.

Who's losing their job? Bundy's still got his ranch, Sterling still owns the Clippers. Stop the histrionics.

In most other cases, employment is at will. If your racist activity becomes a detriment to the company you'll probably get fired anyway.
