This really angered me. I know some parents have that "throw em into the waster and they'll learn how to swim". Which isn't even all that bad if someone is standing right there next to the child. This D'bag could have seriously injured his son, and as you watch, there was no way for the boy to even stay planted onto the skateboard since he kicked it out from underneath him. Ugh!!

The dad got fed up with what he considered to be timid behavior by his son and it was clear cut child abuse.

The dad probably threw her off a roof. Rotten bastard.

Maybe....

I was asking if he had a mom at home because the question was should the child be taken away? If the father did this on his own and behind the mother's back, I'm not for advocating removing the kid from her without knowing if she poses a danger too. Removing kids should not be an action taken lightly IMO.

I hope the kid remembers this when his father is old and drooling at the dinner table. (I shouldn't say that because that's advocating elder abuse, which IMO is as bad as child & animal abuse).

If they're divorced and she wants full custody this video would work in her favor. I know you can't just remove the child on one incident, but the way he walked off all smug, and didn't even check to see if he's ok rings of psychopath !

What the dad was terrible and just plain wrong, but that action alone is not enough to warrant child seizure. We can't just go around taking children willy nilly. I do, however, think that there should be certain actions taken to make sure things aren't more serious at home. If this father is willing to push his son off a ramp in the middle of public, one can only imagine what he'd do in the privacy of their home.

Assuming DHS/Protective Services gets involved, most times when situations come up like this protective services will get involved and someone will visit the home and make recommendations for services for the parent(s) to fix existing problems. Likely to be court ordered. Unless more information comes to light, not to us but tot he people involved, that indicates a history of dangerous incidents like this the kid shouldn't, and most likely wont be, removed from the home based on just this.

Doesn't matter. Hell, the mother could've done this and she'd get the kid.

All dads should keep kids if at all possible and the child isn't in danger (this one wasn't). Men have their custodial rights eroded since time immemorial.

Why should the child be "taken away" and not the (alleged) abuser? If the child had pushed his father off of the ramp would you ask should the father be "taken away"? ;)

I don't want to rush to judgment based on one incident, but I watched the video just the body language and the way he walked away without even looking to see if he son was OK struck me as indicative of a potential abuser. Child services should definitely investigate the dad.

A grown man shoving a little boy off of a wall, I some how doubt he wears the pants in his household. He probably is going to have a server lecturing for the rest of his wife's natural life.

I agree. He shoved that little boy off a wall and didn't even give a damn.if he was okay.

Kids try your patience, but the adult needs to either hire a teacher with patience or learn to have them himself.

Good lord, this was a little kid... what, 4... 6? What kind of a father does that? If I was the boy's mom, I'd be so incensed I'd be back in court requesting that the father's visitation be supervised, before the kid was thrown off a bridge and told to fly or die.

Hell, I was angry that my daughter wouldn't get into the shark cage once so I threw her over board into shark infested water and nobody bitched about it. This guy made a dick head and immature move but not proof that his son should be taken from him.

He didn't shove him... he kicked the skate board out from under him... big difference.

You never know if that kind of incentive will work though... as a parent you have to sometimes try.

I know you love to troll, but this is too far, sweetie. Just sayin'. ;)

But my daughter was fine! She still has one hand...

 You're good, hon. Really good!

I watched breathlessly as another dad jumped in to save her... but nobody takes into account my stress!

It still seemed deliberate. It would have been okay had he looked to make sure his kid was okay but he just stomped off.

I would never deliberately do that, I don't care how pissed I was. That little boy is going to be a teenager one day and if this is comin behavior for this man that boy is going to beat the ever loving **** out of that man and he would deserve it just for that one stunt with the skateboard.
