Is Cliven Bundy a Racist?

Is Cliven Bundy a Racist?

That is not what he said, he was comparing them to being any better on welfare then being a slave.

The only way in which I could imagine Bundy coming out of that statement without being racist is a Godzilla-sized ignorance of history. Otherwise I'm not buying it.

If nothing else Bundy needs to be tied to a chair Clockwork Orange style and be forced to watch the entire series of Roots.

Twice.

I didn't find a review of the website, but I think this article will suffice:

Investment Research Dynamics | Making sense of dollars and cents

"Although the western media at large, and especially the mainstream media in the United States, remarkably never reported the event, the United States Government defaulted on Germany’s request to have some portion of its gold shipped from the Fed custodial vaults back to Germany. That’s right – the U.S. outright defaulted...

As the example of the U.S. default to Germany demonstrates, any entity that keeps its gold in a western Central Bank for “safekeeping” is at great risk of never having it returned."

Are you keeping up with germany's gold that was being held at the federal reserve? Germany asked for a small portion of its gold back.
The federal reserve said it would take 7 years to get them their gold back. Germany said FINE 7 years it equated to 37.5 tons a year.

WELL time for the federal reserve to make the first shipment and they received 5 tons! so where is the other 32.5 tons of gold?
another little tidbit the Gold they did receive was not even their original gold.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-...ered-paltry-5-tons-gold-ny-fed-after-one-year

Here is a nice article explaining the lack of gold being delivered. Now since i also peruse a gold and silver forum, I guess i should not be surprised most here may not be up on the gold and silver scene.

I think it's a Godzilla-sized ignorance of present AND past, actually.

At some point he saw some black people living in a welfare-dependent situation and thought they might have been happier back in the slave days...for him to think that requires a massive lack of understanding. Of how good things are now, and how bad things were then.

That or he's racist as hell.

Yeah, what a shock you'd feel that way about people pledged to the Constitution.

They're a bunch of wannabes that never earned a real tab so they wear a fake one given to them by a BS club.

That being said, ignorance and racism do go together like pizza and beer. They're hardly mutually exclusive.

As it happens all of the Oathkeepers I know ARE vets. Some current service as well. So stick that in your hard drive and download it. :)

I think when a white man says that black people were better off as slaves, nothing that any of his current employees has to say on the matter has a whole lot of weight.

The only problem is, he didn't say quite that. He compared it to being on welfare.

His statement was a little ridiculous given that both options are horrible, but he didn't say they were better off as slaves.

Oath Keepers

*snicker*

you mock people that keep their oaths? So fine upstanding citizens that keep there oaths are now frowned on huh? WOW just WOW!

Well I should not be surprised the left promised social security to senior citizens and now that it is time to pay they give them obama care death panels.

The Oath Keepers are a bunch of losers that need to feel important and wish they had a real tab.

They're the same as Alex Jones fans, but with a "special" tab.

I think the term, "racist," leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

He's my take on the old coot.

He's an old dude. He's was brought up in a different place and time. Listening to his video, I think he was trying to be polite by saying, "negro," thinking he was doing the right thing. His thinking, behind his word, certainly bigoted. Old school, southern, cowboy remnant, conditioned bigotry. He doesn't even know any better. I know several old timer's from Texas that think very similar. I'm impressed, all things considered, he didn't call them "Nigras." That's commonly pronounced that way from the old south dinosaurs.

Is he racist? Tough call. I don't think he burns crosses. I don't think he would go out of his way to do harm to an African American. I even think he might stop on the side of the road to help just about anybody out, if they had a flat tire, black or white.

But I do think that "nigger," is a word he might use commonly in select company.

Just my opinion, of course.

UMM you obviously do not know what oath keepers is even about.

They are service men and women, Police officers, any government official that has taken an oath to protect the constitution.

Well you just lost all credibility with me, i dont think you even have a clue what is going on in the world.

It doesn't take a genius, or much time, to see a bunch of poser REMFs for what they are.

Look, mommy, I got a tab! I'm a big boy now!

True.

Yet there's a line somewhere in there where they jump from "so ignorant they're racist" to "so racist they're ignorant".

Or something like that.

The only problem is, he didn't say quite that. He compared it to being on welfare.

His statement was a little ridiculous given that both options are horrible, but he didn't say they were better off as slaves.

He said he wondered if they were "better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things." So he either believes that being forced to be the property of a slave owner who can be beaten, raped, bought, sold and killed if they attempt to escape is superior, or he doesn't know what slavery actually is.

What a white male thing to say.

Actually, it's a sensible thing to say. Call everyone a racist and the real ones get a free pass and freedom of speech for everyone else will get suppressed. I don't want to live in an environment where the word police runs around with angry faces, pointing fingers like morons.

But he did say that he sometimes wonders if they might be better off during slavery. Specifically mentioning family.

Or words to that effect.

Which, given that many slave owners could and did outright split up families for profit, is idiotic.

So he either believes that being forced to be the property of a slave owner who can be beaten, raped, bought, sold and killed if they attempt to escape is superior, or he doesn't know what slavery actually is.

His exact quote:

And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

When you include what's after the comma that you left off, you will see what I meant. He made a comparison, as I said, not a statement without a comparison.

I'm sure he knows what happened to slaves as we all do. But that wasn't the point of his comment when you read what he said. He wasn't saying the government is raping or beating them less. He's saying that both are evil, and in his mind, what the government has done to people who rely on it to survive may be worse. It's not a thought process I agree with, but I certainly understand why he said it. And it doesn't make him the boogieman I know people on the far left want him to be.

11Bravo and Airborne, actually. And a Marine sniper.

Insulting people you don't even know, how lame and narrow-minded. You know, in recent months you've started acting like a snotty petulant spoiled-brat teenage troll, and the respect I once had for you, and the regard I used to give to your posts, has eroded a great deal.... to the point that I'm rapidly losing interest in talking to you or reading your posts at all.

Yes, I know that was over the line. Don't bother, I'm reporting myself right now... and it was well worth it.
