That's either Yes or No

Never. It's poisonous, I think. There is no moderate or centrist political talk radio and I don't need to be behind the wheel and get agitated by listening to vitriol from either side. I only have music on in my car, ever.

I think political talk radio is toxic. It panders to either the left or the right, driving the political fragmentation of the country.
There is nothing wrong with talk radio as long as it does get the best of you.

No, I listen to the Braves on radio. Now when traveling I have XM in my GMC and I will listen to the 50's channel, MLB channel and Classic radio channel. DP provides enough politics for me.

Nope. In fact, I never listen to the radio; I prefer to listen to music I pick than music someone else picks.

I listen to some talk radio--which may have an occasional political theme.
But the all politics, all the time type shows....no.

Michael Savage is so crazy, he makes me laugh. Once in a while I'll leave him on in the background. Perhaps that's just because I don't have a TV.

No.

I've listened in the past, very limited, to both left and right talk radio so that I could speak from knowledge and not ignorant bliss or ideological bent.

Political talk radio that I listened to for my edification, was the harbinger of hatred, both left and right. All they sis was rant about how ignorant the other guys are and how the other side is trying to kill America.

That even goes for certain NPR programming, which I do listen to. NPR has certain programs that try to give a broad spectrum of ideas, like "All Things Considered" though it isn't exempt from ideological dogma at times. Yet other programming on NPR can be very slanted to the left.

I don't know, to me its the equivalent of watching Fox or MSNBC. People tune in to hear what they want to hear, to cheer what they want to cheer and to boo what they want to boo.
I don't see a problem with that, it all depends upon what you enjoy. Its funny, I grew up in a republican family but I knew nothing about politics. I listened to Rush Limbaugh sitting at my desk at work in the early 90's. That's what got me interested in politics and low and behold while I listened to Rush, I am now a Democrat.

I listened to Rush for years and I even agreed with him on some things.
But his pompous windbag schtick just got tiresome after awhile.
Honestly, Obama being constantly demonized by radio talk hosts probably helped the prez.
Obie just didn't live up--or down--to their non-stop vitriol.

No, I prefer to keep my brain inside of my head.

No, no, no, no.

I used to, many moons ago, but got tired of the hatred and anger coming from these paid talking heads. When it gets to a point where I get pissed off, just by listening to the radio? Something that is supposed to be an enjoyable experience? Time to cut it loose.

Not only do I listen to it, that's ALL I listen to in the car. Granted, it's none of the political windbags, it's local programming.

In the city I either get NPR which has extremely spotty reception, or right-wing am radio which is covered everywhere.

Yayyyy.

A great drinking game is drinking every time the words "Liberal" and "the Left" are used. Of course your liver would shut down in ten minutes but it would be fun for a little while at least.

That's either Yes or No

Technically, strictly speaking, I have to answer 'yes', though 'sometimes' would be a better option for me. I am very careful who I listen to. I seek out and prefer middle-of-the-road hosts, and I will tell you that they are hard to find. When I find one I like I latch on. I simply detest the extremes on either side, and pretty much never listen to the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and their similar counterparts on the other side.

So you don't think people are capable of thinking for themselves?

That's more the reason I detest him (his show, I mean, I've heard he's a decent guy out of character). There's no thought or consideration, it's just us vs them windbag schtick.

I started listening back in the early 80's.

I got tired of commercial talk radio hosts ginning the rhetoric to get people to buy water softeners, transmission, lawn, pest control and ac service.

I listen when I'm in the truck. The guy is local and Independent-Libertarian, but sometimes he goes off the deep end.

Yes.

Oddly (or not?), however, I find myself disagreeing more and more with the hosts/narrative as time goes on.

Or at least picking out specific logic fails and whatnot.

I would rather have bamboo shoots shoved under my fingernails.
