Would you vote for Jeb Bush?

Would vote for Jeb Bush

There was a time I was definitely convinced that Jeb was the pick of the litter so to speak, and I still have little quarrel with him personally. But do I want him to be the GOP nominee? I honestly don't know CJ, but my gut tells me it would not be a good idea in the current political climate. He would be dragging the legacy of two failed (by majority perception) Bush presidencies, and I just don't see how that wouldn't be a problem for him. Emotionally, would I feel secure and confident if he were president over some of the lesser knowns who could be the candidate? Absolutely.

And can I think of a single Democrat that the Democrats could put up that I would favor over Jeb? Nope.

So I definitely have mixed emotions on this one. I would have bet a good steak dinner--wait, I DID bet a good steak dinner--that any Republican could beat Obama in the crappy 2012 economy. I was wrong. Anybody with a brain who is capable of critical thinking knows we would all be better off now had Romney won, but I don't have any confidence that the American public won't be just as dumbed down in 2016. And I don't know that Jeb has the charisma to overcome that.

jeb only has two problems to overcome as a national candidate
his last name is bush
and he is from the GOP

with adequate PR he may have the opportunity to get past both of those barriers
but he needs to start soon, to convince joe public that he will be a much better president than his brother and that he is not mired in the backward social positions of the republican party

i still think condi, as a black woman, would have a better shot at the white house
and would probably make a better prez

Doubtful.

Also "low information voter" is fast becoming the No. 1 personal attack for conservatives to sneak past the mods when it comes to describing people they disagree with. It's getting old.

Interesting tactic; manifest contempt to deflect and disguise reality.

Just so you'll know, the people in this video are low information voters, in other words, the uninformed and misinformed.

They also, self-admittedly, get their information from liberal media, even thought they probably don't know what liberal media is.

I'm sure Jeb Bush would provide plenty of pertinent information for these voters to make an informed decision about his candidacy if he runs, it just won't be provided by CNN, MSNBC, CBS, the NY Times, or the Washington Post.

That's stupendous. And also ridiculously cherry-picked.

Walk around with camera, find people with stupid answers, edit out the people who know what they're talking about, put video on Youtube, ?????, profit.

Stuff like that is about as convincing as "Jaywalking" on the Tonight Show. Topped off with more of the usual right-wing crying about how the mean old librul media is out to get you.

As expected, nothing germane, just denial and whining.

Nothing germane? Really? So you really think if you lined up, say, 100 Obama voters they'd all sound as uninformed as those folks?

Hyperpartisan nonsense claims another victim. Perhaps we'll start cherry-picking every stupid thing a Republican says and painting all conservatives with that brush, since you seem to like it so much.

I don't know that Condi would be more competent than Jeb. He has a track record as administrator and leader--she is relatively untested in that regard. But she's smart, competent, a woman of principle, and would likely figure it all out. But as a black, conservative woman, she would be absolutely brutalized by the Left, by the MSM, by her opponents. Just look at any other 'uppity' conservative minority or female who rises to the top in the GOP or who aspires to higher office. That is the unforgivable sin and it is always an all out assault from the Left to destroy them.

Oh, give me a break. This idea that conservative minorities and women get it worse from "the left," or the implication that "the right" isn't equally as nasty with liberals of all stripes, is sheer nonsense. It's just another right-wing myth that is thoroughly divorced from reality.

In the Republican primary? No.

General election? Yes - although, I'd have to hold my nose.... ;)

Like I stated before, denial. You still deny there are low information voters. Just because you deny it doesn't make it so, no matter how much you blather about it.

Partisan? That's funny. You're as partisan as they come.

You're "yell, scream, bang on the computer desk," and point your finger and state "look over there" game doesn't work. Actually, its rather boring.

No I didn't. I never denied that there are "low-information voters." Another lie from However-The-Hell-You-Pronounce-That.

Of course there are "low-information voters," on both sides of the aisle. However, it's become the insult du jour around here for conservative posters to accuse liberals, exclusively, of all being "low-information voters." That's what I was pointing out, and you responded with a cherry-picked video of Obama supporters saying stupid things. The clear implication being ALL Obama supporters (or liberals, or Democrats, or whoever) are "low-information voters."

Accusations that all Obama supporters are low information voters? Now that's a lie or maybe just delusional?

That cherry picked video is called evidence. There's plenty of evidence but I'm sure you would just call it cherry picked as well.

However, you do represent your party well. :rwbdonkey

I said implication. I know the game you're trying to play here.

Evidence that there are some stupid people who voted for Obama? Thanks. There's stupid people who voted for McCain, too. What's your point?

Wrong again.

It is the TEA party that is trying to get rid of Boehner.
they're pissed at Cantor for the "voice" last week on the "temporary doc fix" and gave him his last warning.
You really need to catch up .

Nobody on DP brings up Boehner except you and other liberals - I wonder, why?

America is suppose to be a democracy, not a monarchy. Why does England still have a monarch? How much money is this useless family costing their economy?

This is the little pig who wanted to force terry schiavo (sp) to remain on "life" support until the polls revealed most did not want to keep her that way, then chickened out?

In any case, **** no to the bush monarchy

The Bush organization has begun pushing Jeb Bush for president very hard now - and have the money to do it.
Would you vote for Jeb Bush?

I don't think I can handle another bush presidency. Bush I was tolerable, But Bush II did nothing but screw stuff up. I don't want to see another Bush in the office.

Update on good ole Jeb. :fueltofir

Jeb Bush has an ObamaCare problem.....

This could get awkward. Since wrapping up his tenure as Florida governor seven years ago, Jeb Bush has been quietly building a fortune for himself, raking in millions of dollars from consulting gigs, real estate investments, and that staple for out-of-office politicians, speeches.

Yet Bush has also netted more than $2 million from his work as a board member with Tenet Health Care, according to The New York Times' Michael Barbaro. That tie could prove troublesome for Bush if he runs for president in 2016 because Tenet, Barbaro writes, "aggressively encouraged Americans to sign up for insurance under the [Affordable Care Act] and trumpeted the legislation as a boon to the company’s finances."

That anger on the right could subside somewhat come 2016, especially if ObamaCare continues to enroll people in bunches. Still, it's not hard to imagine Bush's GOP opponents, should he run for president, ganging up on him for his association with Tenet, much like Mitt Romney's foes beat up on him for signing off on Massachusetts' health-care overhaul.....snip~

Yes I would.. I loved his brother but JB would make a great president.

Heya NP.

He would be better than any Democrat......but this will be some trouble for him going forward now.

Mornin' DA. :2wave: Yeah I think that lil bit will be enough to knock Jeb out of contention. Says he is against Ocare but then was part of those who were acting aggressively in favor of Ocare. The Tea partiers will light him up over that stuff.

don't see how jeb can be bruised by that connection
he was a board member. anyone know how he voted? he may have opposed Obamacare advocacy for all we know
and if he was an Obamacare supporter, then he advocated for a better system than then existed
and really, running against hillary - or hopefully, Elizabeth Warren - are teabaggers going to vote against jeb
don't think so. they are certain to vote against the demo ticket, regardless of whose name is on the GOP ticket

Yeah, I already said against a Demo that it would be a different story. Moreover the piece says he made 2 mil off of Tenet. So the Tea Party will still make it difficult for him in the GOP Primaries.
