Fiddling While Rome Burns

"I used to roll the dice; see the fear in my enemies' eyes... listen as the crowd would sing, 'now the old king is dead, Long Live the King.'.."
I voted no. I really had to think about it though.
Whereas, on one hand, I totally support the right of any woman to succeed and achieve anything she is capable of, on a level field, with her male counterparts, should that be her decision.
On the other hand, I think of all the bull**** reasons our young soldiers are sent to foreign soils to fight and die. We have to believe there is some basis of righteousness, (if there is ever any,) when one finds one's self on a battlefield defending and taking lives. Beyond the "Mom, hot dogs, apple-pie, and "freedom" schtick the the Dogs of War feed us to justify their agenda, for the cost of our blood, there HAS to be some reason to keep you going in a firefight. That reason is the, what I will call for the sake of this thread, "The Prime Directive."
Fight to live. Fight to protect those around you who are fighting to keep you alive. Beyond all the politics and double-speak, the most important thing worth fighting for is the protection of our women and children.
I would never REQUIRE a woman to put herself in harm's way. She MUST be protected.
I think of my grand daughter. My niece. My wife and the daughters we never had.
Nope. No draft registry for our very hope for survival. They must be protected at all costs.
I know my feelings on this are out of step. I apologize in advance if my view offends anyone. That was not my intent. I'm just trying to keep it real in Captain America tradition on speaking my mind on what I feel. I ain't always right. But I am very comfortable in my own skin.
It's GREAT to be me. --- "45% liberal/55% conservative"
Diplomacy is the art of saying 'nice doggy" until you can find a gun.
Absolutely. Equality goes both ways, if men have to do it, women do too.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.
Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.
