You're not talking about the one with the British accent are you? He's good eye candy:mrgreen:

Oh yea, a chick posted about being tired of all the news coverage a week ago, and everybody lit into her:?

Nah, this guy is American. He's probably 60, blonde hair, all tan. Wears a sport coat and tie, but from the waist down, he's probably wearing Bermuda shorts and flip flops.

The media has incessantly covered the missing Malaysian airliner. This is extremely cheap for them to do - rather than having investigative reporters around the country and world for actual domestic and foreign policy matters.

Amazingly, most people are so gullible they will agree that a missing Malaysian airliner is THE most important topic and issue in the world to them going right along with it. And, then, our government decides "yes, the missing Malaysian airliner is a top US government priority!"

I haven't watched about it or read about it myself. There are constant tragedies all over the world 24/7 and a missing Malaysian airline has exactly no relevancy to my life whatsoever.

I have been sitting in my bed since the story broke. I cannot function again in life until this is fully resolved.

Of course, maybe if there is another criminal trial that I can watch on Nancy Grace 24/7, I will be able to forget and move on.

Hey, have any of you downloaded the the most recent update for the Missing Malaysian Airliner Live Feed app? It fixes some of the glitches from the first version. Great improvement!

Being in the aviation business it means I am bombarded with stupid questions and stupider theories.

I have it from a good source that a florist took that plane down.

That kind of thing is a growing problem these days.

No vote, of course, I have troubled myself to read the options/selections and find the poll to be biased...The events in my own nation are of far greater importance.

Yes it's important to me. The Malaysian airliner has shown how shockingly inadequate the monitoring and communication systems are despite 911 and all that went before. That affects me and any relatives or friends I have who may fly. I also have compassion for those who have lost nearest and dearest.

Doesn't affect me at all. But, it IS a news story, whether we want it to be or not, so I'm not getting my panties in a wad over it being in the news, either.

As most people have probably already reached this conclusion, I will keep this brief but: it is all about ratings. People get fixated on things, and when something boosts ratings, they go crazy.

does that mean that the media coverage of the TWA 800 tragedy was also all about ratings?

There is a difference. There was substance to cover in that situation. The day after we had people on the scene recovering things for an investigation. Everything about this flight is speculation, from CNN talking about black holes and asking if professional hypnotists are the way to solve the problem, to Fox attacking CNN over its coverage only to speculate on terrorists attacks, etc. There is no black box, no wreckage, no anything except speculation. In the TWA 800 coverage at least there was always the possibility of new information from the hard evidence recovered, in this case at this point, there is no such possibility.

The media always has the murder of the month they focus on until the next murder-missing person or disaster comes along. They will drop this like a hot potato and run in mass to the next big event as soon as it happens.

Sounds like you ought to subscribe to a local paper. If you don't like the news you can always shut it off.

My heart goes out to friends and families. How horrible not knowing what really happened. Other than that, I worry about more important things while I wait for the final report.

I am going to cut myself every day until this matter is resolved. I need to bleed for these families. Nothing is more important in all the world.

Please feed me more updates about this story.

At this point I'm 90% sure the plane crashed into the ocean and everyone died.

The other 10% is for all 5 billion conspiracy theories.

Your 90% certainty doesn't change my compulsion to bleed for these families. In fact I am offended anyone in the world continues on with their lives despite this uncertainty. Even the continued rotation of the Earth and its orbit around the sun offends me. Nothing in the universe should move again until this is resolved once and for all.

Don't post again until we know what happened. To do so is an insult to the families. Watch the TV screen and don't move until further notice.

Also not at all, but people like a mystery so it is weird or bizarre that the newsmedia is so obsessed about it. Then there is a possible terrorist connection and you have a possible murder mystery.
