 Too bad for him. CNN has had the most coverage on this tragedy and I have to channel hop back to MSNBC for political news..That would probably push him over the edge..:lamo

Jeff Zucker at CNN has them overdoing every tragedy, till I bet the Anchors are ready to go gaga.

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

You nailed it. Pretty accurate description of NP.

This whole thread was his bitter hatred of other people in America who do not vote like he does. Once again a feeble attempt to brink partisan hatred into an event about a missing passenger plane.

I have watched bits of the news on the missing plane because passenger planes don't go missing every day. Have not watched it 24 hours as he pathetically suggested.

I guess if my interest about the missing passengers and their familes makes me some kind of scum then that should be the label on all the people who were concerned about Amelia Earhart when her plane went missing.

I would have preferred a poll where the question asked would have been,
What do you think happened to the airliner
and the answers could have been, airliner electronics failure, pilot became disoriented, hijack attempt, or others.

I find it unfathomable that people boarded the airliner with faux identities and passports, and that passports aren't checked though INTERPOL before people are permitted to board, hard to believe. Lack of caring? or lack of technology to do so?

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

I don't know about anyone else and I feel sorry for the families of that flight but I am sick and tired of the 24 hour coverage when in factt none of these so called experts talking heads on TV have no clue as to what happened to that aircraft.

I am sick of it.All these meaningless updates are doing is tugging on the emotions of the relatives and loved ones of the people on that plane. I know what it is like to have relative or loved one gone missing and you are hoping for news that person is found. They do not need to give useless updates followed with speculative bull****.When they find the plane and passengers then and only then interrupt what ever show and talk about it for a few hours.

If you have someone missing , one would assume you would want as many people as possible to be aware and keep an eye and ear open for any information. Do the news stations run it into the ground? Maybe or is it that we all do not watch the news at the same time any longer so they allowing you to catch the news at whatever time fits your schedule? So that same interview is ran several times a day.

We also must understand that news stations are a business. They are not some government agency. They are there to make a profit and higher viewership is their goal.

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

Here. Or the radio while driving to/from work.

Oh yes, radio, because we all know the radio has MUCH higher journalistic standards!

So since most radio stations use the major networks' news services for their news updates through out the day, just who do you listen to during drive time?

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

I click on the Fox Breaking News site a few times a day to see if there are any updates. I'm certainly not listening to the re-hashing. But I voted, "Give me more," because it's an interesting mystery.

It sure is. I've never heard of anything like this before. The plane seems to have just disappeared off the face of the planet. Anyway, I saw a Chinese woman on the news who just totally lost it. They were supposed to get some information, but again got nothing.

Her son was on that flight, and I assuming that is probably her ONLY child given the 1-child law in China, so I can't blame her one bit for freaking out. Poor thing. :( I can't imagine what it must be like to just have to wait and wonder, not knowing WHAT has happened.

I think it's time for someone in authority to come out and postulate on the most likely scenario. That, in my little mind, is that 'something' happened . . . a catastrophic event, an attempted hijacking, a suicide mission . . . and the plane went down killing all on board. (And then, of course, sharpening country defenses just in case the plane was stolen for some sinister mission.)

Imagine the legal ramifications of 200+ people "missing." Here in the states, that would create a nightmare. Seven years to declare dead, etc. No insurance benefits, no survivors' benefits, etc. Don't know what it does in other countries, but here? It would be a legal quagmire.

This whole situation just seems strange to me. I've heard rumors (of course they might not mean anything) that the Malaysian government may have mistakenly shot down the plane and don't want to admit to it and that they already went and collected the pieces of the aircraft. Of course, that is kind of far-fetched, but definitely not impossible.

This promises to be a major conspiracy theory for many years.

I'm still waiting for news from Perth. They supposedly saw some fuselage or something on satellite, but now they can't seem to find it. You would think with ALL of our technology it wouldn't be so difficult to get to any place on the globe, but apparently that's not the case.

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

I'll bet that damn plane is in Crimea.

No, it's in Diego Garcia on a secret America plot to take over the world.

The Americans already have all the parts in a secret hangar at Area 51 under assembly.

I don't understand being tired with the loss of a major airframe carrying souls on-board. But, of course, we do live in a world where people just don't give a damn anymore about anything but their own lives.

I expect full coverage (that does not have to mean wall-to-wall) until a resolution is derived that makes sense. Anything short of that and I would be entirely dissatisfied with the Officials who are responsible for managing such crises.

That's not funny. A perfectly fine aircraft just came up missing and there were souls on-board who could have been some of your family members - or you, for that matter. Suppose your own wife was on-board, or your husband. Or, how about your own son or daughter. Grandmother or grandfather. Best friend or a really well known co-worker.

This is not the time for jokes. Both the aircraft and most importantly the People, are unaccounted for and that speaks volumes about how seriously everybody should take the matter. Equally as important, the Causation for the problems with Flight 370 need to be known by the OEMs and the Airlines, so that if the Causation was mechanical and not human factors related, an AWB or SAWB can be publish that solves the problem so that when you, or someone you know boards another Boeing 777, that same thing does not happen again.

All jokes aside, we need the coverage and we need to know what happened for the good of all.

I was thinking, it could even be the work of aliens.

Look, you are online, and people are going to tell jokes. Best not to be so sensitive. This was a joke about all the time it's taking to find out what happened and not about the missing people, so lighten up.

aircraft accidents are major news because what happened to the plane may be the result of a design flaw or something that could risk future flights.

twa 800 and the plane that crashed in queens new yoork back in 2001 are prime examples.

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

Does anyone else actually not give a **** what happened to the plane? Or am I alone in my honesty?

It crashed. Somewhere. That's bad. You waiting for the mothership to drop it off in the Sahara?

You ****ed up the poll, old timer. There's no 'I don't care and neither do you' option.

Re: malaysia airlines flight 370 fiasco.

No wonder you are clueless...You watch none of the 24 hour news channels???? That explains a lot.

The 24 hour news channels are the worst source of information out there.

Of course but at the same time you do not want to hear oh we found a oil spot that we think might be jet fuel, some trash trash that might be pieces of the jet, some satellite images that might be be the jet or a hand full of other countries joined the search, or here is a conspiracy followed by a couple hours of speculative bull**** and interviews with their so called experts.

I wonder if any of this could be deductible on next year's return.
