Fred Phelps is about to die... how should we react?

Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps Sr. 'on the edge of death' - NY Daily News

I say we ignore it. Any attention whatsoever, especially any type of protest, will please the remaining members. I don't want to give them the satisfaction.

We won't, of course, but that's what would be done if it were my call.

Ignore it, leave the family alone. Don't give them the chance to play the victim.

I would hope people rise above the same wicked things he did in life and not protest the funeral, but we'll see.

I do think he'll be in for a rude awakening though when he stands before God in judgement once he does die.

You know protesting his funeral has a certain ring to it, but my better angels tell me just ignoring the guy and his family altogether is the better way to go.

Yep. I totally get the desire for the emotional satisfaction, but I'd rather think of their disappointment if no one showed up.

I am going to forget it and never think about him again. Course his "church" is still around.

This. It's an excellent opportunity to go the high road. Sure, my motive may be somewhat passive aggressive, but **** it.

Isn't it always best to "be the change"? IOW, wish him well and his family peace. It would be a little hypocritical to protest and attack him at a time like this.

Tell me it wouldn't be funny to have a bunch of people show up holding signs that show Satan banging Phelps up the ass or Phelps in the center of a big circle jerk with like 20 cocks in his mouth.

My indifference to his death is at fever pitch.
Eternity is an awfully long time, especially towards the end.

Hi, I'm from Europe, where the history comes from.
