    Do you like Casinos?

Every 4 to 6 weeks we'll go to the Hard Rock in Tampa for the evening on a weekend. May return that night or stay overnight. About every 3-4 months will go to an offshore casino boat. May stop for a while if we see a large casino while traveling.

We only play slots, not tables, and not large amounts. We've never lost more than $200 for the night nor came out more than $200 ahead. Usually will be down about $150 for both of us - which I see as doing well for 4-6 hours at a casino. However, they can be costly stops as we buy the best meals they offer as it seems foolish to be cheap on food since playing at a casino is basically throwing money away.

Well, up until about a year ago, I was good for once a month...where I donated my $1,500 to the slots and went home. Feeling remorseful and hung over. For some reason, I've lost that compulsion which is a good thing. If I had to guess how much money I've spent at casinos in the last fourteen years since returning from Wisonsin's boonies, I'd say probably $100,000. A complete and total waste...except it was an awesome stress reliever. So maybe if I look at it as therapy, I wouldn't feel so bad. Had I just flushed the money down the toilet instead, at least I'd have saved on gas.

I used to get my meals comped through a dollar-comp program. They had a wonderful steakhouse in-casino. Five-star service and food. We'd go a few times a year and take guests. I'd usually bring home a delicious meal when I went because Tom didn't join me. I was a very generous tipper -- well, I still am that. Like you, I figured I'm shoving $$ down a rathole so I may as well share with others who will get something out of it besides a high.

Last night we went out for a few drinks, and I couldn't resist playing their slots. I probably broke even or spent $50.

When I feel like gambling, I log on to Fidelity.com. I like the odds there. I have never been in a casino, and have no intention of going to one. I don't gamble of other activities like horses, dogs, or sports. No scratch off tickets or lotto (the worlds biggest voluntary tax).

I lost twenty bucks once at the slot machines.

    Gambling isn't my demon.

I NEVER play slots, I understand stastics too well. I either only play poker with other players, the only time I engage in such foolish "Lottery behavior" is when I play craps.

To be honest, I don't even gamble much or partake in friend's poker games. I consider it foolish. But I do enjoy the lights, sights and sounds of a casino. I'll gladly drink next to my brother as he plays.

Loud, obnoxious places full of drunken gomers who don't have the ability to vacation somewhere with actual beauty and culture. Instead, you get choked by cigarette smoke that invades your clothing, buffet options that are frequently nauseating, and cheap assed idiots that think that if they go to Vegas and see a fake Paris, fake NY, fake pyramid and plaster of Paris Venice they don't have to actually travel and see the world.

Plus...you can't win, really, stop trying, you don't have a secret trick to beating the house, take that money and send you kids to a good college.

I only play craps. Its the only game thats fun and you get a lot of conversations and camaraderie at the tables.

But I like low minimum tables, and those are hard to find if you're not in some dump in Nevada.
Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.
