There is a thread about penis cancer being on the rise and it made me wonder if I would choose to die or have my penis removed. In my younger years I would say die with no hesitation but in my 60s now I would have to think about it a while.

Just over half the population of the world goes through life without a penis and manages well enough, don't they?

You didn't include: Perfect!

though its not like their without some fun gentile's to play with

I would be excruciatingly upset about it, but eventually I would have to move on and continue living my life. Ultimately there is more to life than sticking your appendages in warm holes.

dam its testicle not penis

Especially when I was younger, my altruism was such that I often lent mine to those without. The rate has diminished over the years, but I am still of the opinion that charity begins at home.

I live quite well without one.

But I can't deny that I haven't wondered what it would be like to have one.

You know, I really love these sorts of threads that have the potential to bring us all together. In this regard, I hereby offer this opportunity for a heartfelt :2grouphug by suggesting that we can probably agree that life for all of us would go along quite swimmingly without Sawyer's penis.

Since I've never had one, I'd have to opt for living, since I wouldn't know what I was missing.

id feel especially depressed watching the meaning of life with out one

but it's way ahead of whatever is in second place.

boobs make up for the lack?

hehe maybe I should have said have one attached to me? errrr maybe- born with one? :2razz:

Well, loosely speaking we were born with one, but it's small and concealed for the most part, and pretty much serves one single purpose, so we just have to suffer with it.

That thread was born from a circumcision thread where the poster of the penile cancer thread was trying to make the argument there is a connection between the two, but of course, that connection was debunked years ago. In any event, that reminds me of something else when thinking about this thread. Men that get circumcised as adults feel a certain level of loss and depression over it, while on the other hand, men that get it done as infants will not know the difference and will commonly think there is nothing wrong with them. The difference between the two groups mentioned comes down to experience that gives the former group a reason to feel loss, while not having the experience, gives the later group no reason to feel such loss. I have no doubt the same is true here and it's why I imagine most men wouldn't want to live without their penis or at the very least suffer from a certain amount of depression over the loss of it, making some of the posts in this thread retarded. As for me, I wouldn't want to live after something like that.

Oh and btw, even with the increase the cancer is still extremely rare. The point was rather stupid to begin with where it was originally used on all fronts.

I use to go to church with a guy who didn't have (a natural) one. As a kid he was injured in an accident and lost it. The doctors were able to create a Chaz Bono replacement. He's seemingly very happily married but no with kids. He and his wife spoke at church once on overcoming challenges. She says they have an active sex-life and she "can hardly tell there's any issue." Of course, he can't sense anything and the accident occurred when he was a young boy so he has never experienced any sexual sensation. I did get the impression he was curious as to what he's missing out on and possibly struggles with resentment toward a relative who caused the accident as it was more a a situation where it was callous horse-playing more than an true accident.

To the bolded: I would consider him probably fortunate that he doesn't have to live with the memories, and can instead live without knowing what he is missing out on.

If you lose a penis, can't you go in for an adadictome?

Considering that they use the penis in that surgery, I can't imagine how they would do it. You have to have puzzle pieces to complete a puzzle, and in this case, some of the pieces had cancer.

"Just Shoot Me". In fact, I have a bullet in my dresser at home that's sole purpose is to end my life if I end up with Cancer, or any number of other diseases, maladies, or situations I have no interest in living through.
