Sadly I believe he is and Putin knows it. I don't believe it would pull this crap if GWB was still president........Say what you want about President Bush. He had the respect of the European nations........Obama does not have that respect and unless things change we could be in another Cod War situation.

President Bush had 4700 of our troops needlessly killed because he was afraid of a paper tiger. Saddam_Hussein‎

Yeah, Putin wouldn't pull anything when Bush was president. Yanno, except for that whole 2008 invasion of Georgia, the botched theater hostage crisis of 2002, and other assorted bullcrap with Chechnya.

Most of the European leaders strongly disliked Bush. Talk about revisionist history.

You think the Cold War was all about "respect"?

Putin literally invaded and occupied about a quarter of a foreign country when Bush was President, he was "pulling this crap" well before Obama was President.

And I wouldn't worry about the Cod War, we got those boys from Deadliest Catch on our side.

Well last August during the Putin-Obama staredown over Syria, Obama blinked.

Putin has little respect for Obama. Obama is a pantywaist when it comes to foreign affairs.

Putin held G.W. Bush in awe. But I'm sure Condoleezza Rice gave Bush some pointers how to deal with KGB thugs.

Obama got Syria to dismantle its chemical weapons without firing a shot. Your little narrative simply doesn't square up with reality.

Don't know.

Don't care.

And your boy Johnson had 58,000 in Nam.......Your point is???

Obama doesn't bomb Syria, then he blinked in the face of Putin
If Obama had bombed Syria, he'd be a warmonger

For the record I think the "red line" comment was stupid, it was a bad move to make what was clearly a threat to use military force at some point in the future when we didn't know what the situation would be like at that point in the future. But credit where credit is due he managed to get something out of it in the end by arranging this deal to dismantle Syria's chemically weapons without the US having to engage in military action, something which is of course far cheaper for us and less dangerous to our military.

And really at the end of the day did we not achieve the best outcome to that crisis? Mistakes were made on the way there for sure but ultimately we got to a point where we arranged a diplomatic deal that allowed us to help oversee the peaceful destruction of a nation's WMD stockpiles. What other outcome would have been better?

They might have disliked him but unlike Obama they respected him.

You brought up Bush in the first place dude.

Your damn right I did my left wing friend and I stand by my statement.

And I ain't a dude....My name is Navy Pride.

Ya but you're talking about his record as President, which means when we bring up several good examples of Putin getting his way over Bush that it directly and factually contradicts what you saying. Do you not understand that reality is not just what you choose it to be?

Actually our self proclaimed war hero, John Kerry has a Joe Biden moment and blundered.

Putin saw a way from preventing a war with the USA and saving Obama looking more incompetent than he already is.

But I concur, the "red line" comment was stupid.

Next to Hillary Kerry is probably one of the worse Sec of State we ever had..........That is the scary part.

There was never a risk of war between the US and Russia.

Also John Kerry is not a "self proclaimed" war hero, he's got well documented history by the US Navy of his actions during Vietnam including 3 Purple Hearts a Bronze Star and Silver Star.

Here's his Silver Star citation
"For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving as Officer in Charge of United States Navy Patrol Craft Fast 94 and officer in Tactical Command of an operation in the Republic of Vietnam. On 28 February 1969, Patrol Craft Fast 23, 43 and 94, in conjunction with Underwater Demolition Team 13 and Vietnamese Regional and Popular Forces personnel, conducted an operation on the Ca Mau Peninsula as part of Operation SEA LORDS. While transiting the Bay Hap River en route to an insertion point along the Dong Cung River, these craft with thirty Regional/Popular Force personnel embarked in each unit came under heavy enemy small arms fire from the river banks. The Officer in Tactical Command, Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY directed his units to turn to the beach and charge the Viet Cong positions. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY expertly directed the fire of his craft at the fleeing enemy while simultaneously coordinating the insertion of the embarked troops. While the Regional and Popular Forces conducted an area sweep, Patrol Craft Fast 43 remained on station to provide fire support and Patrol Craft Fast 23 and 94 moved upstream to investigate an area from which gunshots were coming. Arriving at the area, Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY's craft received a B-40 rocket close aboard. Once again Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY ordered his units to charge the enemy positions and summoned Patrol Craft Fast 43 to the area to provide additional firepower. Patrol Craft Fast 94 then beached in the center of the enemy positions and an enemy soldier sprang up from his position not ten feet from Patrol Craft Fast 94 and fled. Without hesitation Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY leaped ashore, pursued the man behind a hootch and killed him, capturing a B-40 rocket launcher with a round in the chamber. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY then led an assault party and conducted a sweep of the area while the Patrol Craft Fast continued to provide fire support. After the enemy had been completely routed, all personnel returned to the Patrol Craft Fast to withdraw from the area. While backing off the beach, these units again came under a hail of fire, this time from the opposite river bank. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY immediately coordinated the firepower of his units and supressed the enemy fire. Later, after disembarking personnel, and while exiting from the Bay Hap River, the Patrol Craft Fast were again under fire. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY immediately maneuvered his craft through several strafing runs which completely silenced the enemy. As a result of this operation, ten Viet Cong were killed and one wounded with no friendly casualties. In addition, numerous sampans, structures and bunkers were destroyed as well as confiscation of substantial quantities of combat essential supplies. Lieutenant (junior grade) KERRY's devotion to duty, courage under fire, outstanding leadership, and exemplary professionalism directly contributed to the success of this operation and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Unites States Naval Service."

Facts are a bitch man.

Putin looks brilliant, overplaying his gambit in the Ukraine.
And Putin couldn't wait to pressure Kiev until after the Olympics, losing his Rook.
And now the head of the Ukraine is gone, not to mention the scoes of dead and a tangled economy, losing the Queen.
So then the President rides in to save Putin a little face, giving him a draw .

I don't think he is afraid of him, Obama is far too cocky to be afraid of Putin in any rational way. However, Obama is also too stupid to know how to handle Putin; getting out played by Putin at nearly every turn.

But what did people expect would happen when a "community organizer" with zero real world experience is pitted diplomatically against the ex head of the KGB? A comparison would be like George H.W. Bush (ex vice president, ex director of the CIA, Ambassador to China, Congressman and Navy war hero) being pitted against the guy in Moscow who used to be responsible for speaking out for tenants rights in the government sponsored housing project in the bad part of town.
