Should marijuana be legalized? Yes. Solves a lot of problems.

Sorry for informing you that your justification for your opinion is just bloody awful.

I cant agree to that. Weed is pretty much harmless, other drugs like X and stuff should probably be legal too.

    most drugs though ...

Do you have any research to share with us?

I'm all for legalisation with various caveats

Only certain strains of the plant should be legalized, those most likely lead to psychosis banned, those with anti psychotic properties encouraged (Yes they do exist, google them)

    >No importation from other countries

    >No one with a criminal record for non drug related offences can be involved in the industry

    >A strict (but free) licencing system should be put in place to enforce the above.

This means that consumption would occur in a manner more congruent to mental health, and that gangs/cartels can not compete with cheaper legal alternatives, hopefully leading to their being forced out of the business.

Sadly it is legal here in Washington and because of that accidents with people high on dope has increased considerably.

The same could be said about alcohol. Or perscription drugs.

The way it works in Colorado is that weed is only sold in certain licensed dispensaries (I believe there are 300 in the state). I visited one called Green Solutions. You stand in a line for a few minutes and they check your ID, and put you in their registry (no idea what that's for, but the legal age is 21). You're then greeted by a concierge who walks you through literally thousands of strains of cannabis, talking about the properties, THC content, CBD content, etc. When you've selected a strain, they walk you through the different forms they're sold in. They sell pre-rolled joints, just plain weed for you to put in your pipe, edibles (chocolates, brownies, cakes, etc), marijuana-infused beverages, hash oils, you name it.

The legal limits are different for medical marijuana card holders and for recreational users. For example, my friend is quadriplegic and has a medical marijuana license for pain management. Where I bought a chocolate bar with 80mg of THC, his had 400mg. Also, you are limited in the quantities you can buy, with medical users being allowed higher quantities.

Medical card holders are allowed to grow up to 6 plants in their own home, but are not allowed to sell what they grow. Recreational users cannot grow their own.

It's true, but opium and coca leaves are also plants.

Then again I say.... God made marijuana, so how can it possibly be bad? That would be like saying God made a mistake or something.

Marijuana isn't really dope. Dope is short for "dopamine," which is a brain chemical associated with rewards. Cocaine mimics dopamine, which is why some people call it "dope" for short.

My serious pot-smoking days are behind me but...now and then....do you know if there are any cafes where you can smoke it socially? I went with my best friend to Amsterdam about 15 years ago and we met all sorts of interesting people who were amenable to conversation. If there are such things, I think I'll take a trip to CO this summer and recreate some.
