The end result was though...after all, the South was burned to the ground. Colossal disaster.

I think the argument could actually be made that it turned out better for your country in the long run -- increased Northern domination, and the North held as its ideals some degree of secularism, liberalism, industrialism and social progress.

But I see what you're saying.

I guess this pic has gone viral. It makes me want to vomit and this so called lady needs to be dishonorably discharged IMO.

Considering some of the other things other service members have done? This is really very tame. And honestly, not that big of a deal. Slap her hands at most and get over it.

OK american, sorry I went off on you. It was just so obvious to me and made me so freakin mad that I assumed everyone knew what it was, my mistake.:peace

Sorry, I didn't know what it was either. I had to read down for context.

If Abu Ghrabi was Bush's fault because of the "tone he set" then I guess the tone obama sets could be responsible for this. Good catch.

Or because it could be his daughter???

I think every one of us has a momento in our lives like this. People would make assumptions based on that one picture. I don't think any of us would like that.

If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

I guess not. I see a picture of a woman licking what appears to be a mural dedicated to MIA's, which is...sort of weird. But I don't get the outrage. Was she specifically mocking American prisoners of war?

So the shoe's on the other foot now huh. You libs blamed Abu Ghrabi on Bush but our current breakdown in military decorum is in noooo way obama's fault.:lamo

again, if Obama ordered that airman to lick that POW-MIA emblem like the dicknbush regime ordered torture, then your equivalence would be appropriate
if not, then no, they are not in any way the same

Yes she was. Its disgusting, especially seeing as she is our uniform.

If true (it's a bizarre picture and I can't imagine what she was thinking), then yeah, that's pretty tacky.

Losing a stripe being a career killer? No, I knew a sargeant that got busted down to E-2. Before I left, he was back up to E-5. He just had to work hard and earn trust back. It added about 4 more years of progression for him, but it isn't a career killer.

Heck, most of Chiefs used to say that you wouldn't make Chief if there wasn't at least one NJP in your past. (Obviously not really true, but there are plenty of Chiefs, Sr. Chiefs, and Master Chiefs out there who have been NJP'd.)

I don't know about dishonorable discharge (seems a little extreme), but some kind of disciplinary action should be taken.

That would be 'proportional', I'd say. I can remember from my time in uniform we did some pretty sick things, I don't know, service persons have a warped sense of humour sometimes;)
