The whole bowing nonsense is just certain individuals on the right wing getting their panties in a twist, honestly you never see respectable conservatives getting upset about it.

    Only the juvenile ones.

Since George Washington was the 1st president and he must have bowed to someone at some time in his life, my guess is that it was him.

George Washington preferred bowing to handshaking since he considered handshaking to be Un-presidential.

I strongly disliked Bush the Elder "bowing" to the Premier of China since it seemed to close to kowtowing.

If the 'Father of our Country' preferred it, it should be good enough for anyone.

Jetboogieman, you not being a conservative you are probably unaware that conservative men don't wear panties. Our women do or they just don't wear them.

There are exceptions, sometimes in combat you don't wear boxer shorts but go commando. At least that was true in Nam. Too frickn hot and humid to wear underwear.

Why on Earth would I care in the slightest?

    What's next?

Who was the first POTUS to flatulate in public? The first to publicly utter the word 'Omaha'?

That was probably the most appropriate thing he ever did.
