The tea-party should always remain as a wing of the GOP the same way that pinkos should always remain as a wing of the democrat party.

They could just have a civil war like our Conservatives are and see who wins. They could adopt the Progressive Conservative label ours used.

Maybe they should learn to compromise instead. Or is such a thing even possible in America? I'm a huge fan of compromise. I'd rather get a little of something than all of nothing.

Then, united, they could compromise with the Democrats and together they could.....you know....do better?

I'm working on a Science Fiction novel obviously...

Re: Should the Conservatives and Tea Party join.

A third party taken mostly from the Republicans would obviously leave the Democrats with a lot more votes than either the Tea Party or the rest of the Republicans.

Better, let's form a new party, call it the America First party, and take the best from both major parties, the great center of America.

America first as opposed to the current reality of Party First, that is.

Re: Should the Conservatives and Tea Party join.

    This is just silliness.

Republicans created the Tea Party as a way of generating passion and interest among the most moronic Republicans.
It started out as merely a way to increase voter turn out.
But the Republicans and Fox News who created the Tea Party under estimated the numbers and the extent of ignorance and stupidity within their party and it has taken on a life of it's own.

The Tea Party is nothing but a tactic, no different than Republicans telling red necks that Obama wants their guns and is hording ammunition.
It riles up the weak minded, the uneducated, the bitter, and the racists.
This is sort of like the Debt Ceiling debacle.
No one is actually against raising it and for refusing to pay our bills. Each side pretends to be against it while secretly being for it because they know that there are incredibly stupid Americans out there that just don't understand what the debt ceiling is and they know that they can rile them up and increase voter turn out.

These tactics back fired on Republicans. They fooled too many people this time around and now the morons that do not understand how Government works, instead of voting for traditional Republicans, are voting for other morons that don't understand how Government works, which by the way... just happen to also be Republicans.
Now we have elected officials that want to destroy the Government and a voting base of loonies that think this is good. All of which are former Republicans that missed the bus.

    2) No

    4) Other (explain)

The Conservatives and the Tea Party certainly have their own ideas on how the Country should be governed.
If they think they have the right ideas and wide support of the people, then why do they not create their own political party.

They both think the speaker of the house should be fired, that taxes are too high, regulations should be relaxed, they both want to do away with food stamps or drastically reduce them. They want to change SS and eventually do away with it. And lots of other things.

They don't like or agree with the main stream GOP and yet are happy to live under the umbrella of the GOP.

If they created their own party they would be able to get their own message out without being held to the GOP standards.
I'm sure they could find lots of business donors as well as private citizens to donate to them. They could possibly take several Republicans, Independents and who knows, maybe even some Democrats with them.

I know it's hard, but lets try to have a civil discussion and not a pissing match.

This is a private poll in an effort to keep it as civil as possible
I voted other. I think Conservatives should stay in the GOP and the 'Tea Party' can go.

    Republicans are incapable of compromise.

Absolutely. They should form a third party - leave the GOP - and run candidates across the board for all offices ASAP.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

I hear you, the Republican party has become the angry white christian male party. The tea party is just angry rabble, they killed a good party. I'm happy to be independent.
