Jesse Ventura 2016

As amusing as I find Jesse Ventura, and as much as I would have liked him to stay in government so I could see more of what he was made of, he alas went into television instead, and became a guru to the conspiracy theory laughing-stock crowd. Another guy I had high hopes for, more high hopes dashed. :(

Id really liek to believe an independent could make a real run for the presidency. it would NOT be Jessie Ventura...he's kinda shown himself to be a clown. But...regardless of who made the attempt and regardless of how strong his message might be...I just dont believe there are enough people willing to consider someone outside of their party comfort zone for one to actually stand a chance. At best, an independent or third party will help one or the other major parties to win.

Can an Independent win the 2016 Presidential Election?

Yes, but less than a one percent chance. Ventura is even closer to zero because of the CT wagon he jumped on.

Yes.

Jesse Ventura did win as a Mayor, and a Governor. I think he could also win the Presidency.

If the Republican party gives the middle finger to their base, and nominates the most liberal Republican they can find, once again, millions of ppl will be seeking greener pastures and either sit it out or search for a 3rd party candidate that better fits their core values.

If the choice is socialism v less socialism, I will be voting for Jesse Ventura.

Jesse Ventura is dead, an alien blew a hole in his chest the size of a bowling ball. I think the one on TV today is an alien from out there...a galaxy far, far away

His conspiracy theorist side bothers me, but I liked him as governor....I'm undecided because of that.

Can an Independent win the 2016 Presidential Election?

The quick answer is absolutely. When one looks at party affiliation today, 24% of the electorate Republican, 29% Democrat and 47% independent, the numbers are there. Also back in the 90's only 39% of the electorate said they would consider voting for a third party, today it is 81%. But other than my quick answer, it would take a more in depth reply to cover the hows and what has to be done. But as of today, there is no one out there that would fit the criteria. But who knows, Perot didn't come on the scene until very early in 1992 and at one time was leading both Bush and Clinton in the polls.

I have to pick up my graddaughter from school, if not for that I would explain the hows and whys.

He cant run, he is hiding from drones. Is there seriously a movement to run Jesse for president. Really? hell maybe it is me that's crazy, but that really seems crazy.

You know, this is the second thing that has crossed my computer screen, in the last hour, that I think is completely crazy and the other one was seriously work related. Maybe it is me.

Me too. I kinda wish he would chilax and dump the conspiracy speak. It turns off a hell of alot of ppl. I realize he has a significant base that relishes that kind of talk, but even if he stops it, he is still more reasonable then anybody in the mainstream.

I love Jesse Ventura. But, not for president. Even though, that would be hilarious.

But some things are just too serious to have some one like him. The oval office being one of them.

Kinda like, "Willie Nelson for President!"

A crazed nutter like Ventura can't win. Nor should he, ever.

He needs to go away.

I don't think he wants it. He's said that he'll run if he's drafted, but he isn't going to put any effort into getting on the ballot.

The one thing he would do is bring together Democrats and Republicans - against him.

When I moved out here to Minnesota he was the gov. I would have voted to re-elect him if he had run for a second term.

Good point.
I saw that gaping hole with my own eyes.
No one could survive that......unless maybe, just maybe the gov't staged the whole thing.;)

I still think that that was the second best movie of all time. Of course Sigorney Weaver in her underware is Alien was the best.

Yeah, he seemed like a real outside the box kind of guy.......and then he quit after one term.
Maybe he was forced to call it quits by the NWO.......no not that NWO....Vince McMahon's NWO.

Dennis Rodman has a better chance of being elected President than Jesse Ventura. Oh wait - the current guy in the White House has put black candidates for the Presidency back 200 years - never mind.

Post of the day, thanks for the laugh

I am a Green and know that it is nearly impossible to create an electoral base without big money. Greens are always independent. I could vote for Jesse Ventura because I truly believe that we need to get the Repugnocrats out of our gov't to cure it. Relative to conspiracy theories, there are more real conspiracies than conspiracy theories and the Repugs started the "Conspiracy Theory" discreditation when Saint Ronnie got caught committing treason by interfering with Jimmy Carter's negotiations to get the hostages released from Iran and then followed up with drug dealing and arms trading in Nicaragua. "Conspiracy Theory" and "Out of the loop."

Hard to argue this point.
Carrie Anne Moss was similarly fetching in "Red Planet"......actually, she's fetching in all her movies.:)
Hey, let's start a new thread...."Sci-fi Erotica".......
