Is a civil war in the U.S. imminent?

    So, what do ya think?

If there is a civil war in the near future, who's gonna fight who? What could be the outcome?

Nope. If random YouTube videos were accurate to any degree, we'd all be posting from FEMA camps by now.

I really think the US is as good a place to live as it has ever been, if not, even better. People who are eating and happy dont revolt. We as a country are happy.

The US civil war is somewhat sad from my perspective.

After almoust 200 years of civil war in Germany (between the small states) the conclusion learned was that every political leadership in the future should always avoid such divisions to take place.

After the Austrian civil war in 1923 and the birth of the second republic after WW2 in 1954 the two main political parties created a "contract of friendship" in which they swore to never call for violence against the other again. Which now is a kind of "code of honor" in the republic followed by every party.

I guess the disapointment in the North after victory and the resentment in the South towards the North because of the brutality with which the North pilleged and occupied the South, prevented any reconsiliation.

Or am I wrong with seing this that way?

That being said, I think it highly unlikely that civil war will break out in the US again.

Is a civil war imminent? With no country specified, Syria could be considered an ongoing civil war. Sunni vs. Shia civil war in Iraq may be imminent and is on a small scale today. I would keep a watch on Thailand as the possibility of a civil war there is very real. But in the United States, no.

Although our political parties love to divide, segregate us into groups and factions, in an attempt to conquer us to get our votes, it hasn’t been fatal. I think this is dangerous as it is possible the continuation of the divide and conquer strategy can cause certain groups to come to hate other groups and leave us as a nation divided. But most Americans, at least so far recognize this attempt for what it is, a political strategy where one party tries to get the people to hate the other more than they hate them.

What will be the long term effects of this divide and conquer strategy? I really do not know. But as long as it remains in the political arena it probably is no big thing. But if divide and segregate starts to spill over into other areas of society than we will have a huge problem. Just some of my thoughts.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

I would say it depends on many factors.

The collapse of the dollar, some sort of event that knocks out the electric grid for more than a few days, outbreak of a deadly pathogen, attempts by the FedGov to confiscate the guns, etc could definitely spark internal chaos and mayhem.

    Of course not. That's absurd.

And how could it be 'imminent' if we're talking decades and centuries?

When my wife and I, we are both army veterans, want a good laugh at silly people we watch Doomsday Preppers. If you watch one you will see that the disclaimer at the end gives the probabilities of the 'crisis' the Prepper is in fear of.

Most are silly fat men who wouldn't last a New York minute in a real doomsday scenario. Some of THE MOST whiny guys I have ever seen- the best was one whiner crying because a rifle HE SAW being set up by him rung his bell.... as if there will be no loud noises in defense of the homestead.

Next best was a guy who shot his fingertip off while 'training' his son on firearm use.

There maybe a riot if power was lost for a few days but there will be no war.

My advice to you is if you believe 'reality' TV you should start listening to the radio.
