Snowden has revealed a Intelligence/Corporate alliance that collects business intel worldwide and shares that info with selected private USA Corporations. I'm pretty sure that defines "Facsism," or at least is the tip of the iceberg being revealed. The revelations also resonated on how USA private citizens rights are being violated in a wholesale fashion. The Nobel Prize would be a just and deserved light upon these violations.

Whether they were injured is not the issue. The UNNECESSARY POTENTIAL for them to be injured due to the revealing of Classified information pertaining to military secrets is sufficient to make it a serious issue in my mind.

What "peace" has come into being because of Snowdens actions?

Then show me the link that proves military secrets were/are revealed. There are none. That is the problem. He revealed spying upon private citizens that was and is against the law.

Remember that I don't believe in Rights, Dave. So far as I'm concerned the Government should have the right to do whatever checking on anyone.... You, Me, anyone else they deem necessary to ensure the security of this nation.

Re: Should Edward Snowden win the Nobel Peace Prize?

I voted no, not because what he did doesn't deserve recognition, but because the Nobel Peace Prize has become a joke considering some of the people awarded the prize in recent history.

Perhaps the Congressional Gold Medal would be far more suitable - it is, after all, awarded to citizens "who have performed an achievement that has an impact on American history and culture that is likely to be recognized as a major achievement in the recipient's field long after the achievement." I can't think of anything quite as impactful as the revelations Snowden has disclosed this past year and they will have reverberations for years to come.

If nothing else, for waking Congress to the actions of the government they are sworn to oversee, he should be so recognized.

UNNECESSARY Potential to be injured. Please actually pay attention to what I said. Obvously US Military members always take a chance with their safety. What Snowden did was to provide material that could INCREASE the chance of those servicemembers being injured and that I take significant umprage at.

I voted 'no' too, because there are better candidates out there.

I am very grateful to Snowden for revealing the government's actions. As Americans (and I'll throw in the Germans too), we can all think of similar situations of which the NSA spying is reminiscent.
