As an aside, I wonder how many lies a minute he'll be going at this time. Enough to break the sound barrier?
 
My bet is that just like he did with all state of the union addresses, he'll recycle most of the rhetoric from previous ones and just add in flavour notions in sync with what happened last year.

I have never listened to a SOTU address and will not start tonight. Almost every speech this president has given has been a campaign speech, I see nothing different happening tonight.
 
What Obama, the economic genius, will propose is an increase (likey phased in over the reaminder iof his term) in the federal minimum wage (MW). Obama will assert that the MW increase will 1) reduce poverty, 2) not increase unemployment (or reduce working hours of those now employed) and 3) help to close the income inequality gap (the liberal's favorite talking point).

Since the federal MW has been increased numerous times in the past, there are many studies (see links below) that can show us if any of these three things will (or are likely to) actually occur; all of these studies seem to say not, but Obama will ignore that pesky detail and boldly assert otherwise.

Obama's sincere hope is that the GOP will not go along with this MW increase plan, thus supply the congressional demorats, seeking re-election in 2014, a great "class warfare" talking point to help bolster their dismal campaign hopes - shifting focus away from the folly of PPACA and the present state of the economic recovery.

Obama is the most irrelevant, inconsequential second term President in my memory. Does anyone but the most starry-eyed sychophant listen to this man anymore?

I suspect, when the numbers come out, this will be the least watched/listened to SOTU address in decades if not the least since such numbers were first tracked.

most of those who voted for that clown did not do so on the grounds he was competent. The fact that he has proven to be incompetent doesn't bother them since they didn't expect such skill to begin with
 
He'll want to start an initiative that is totally unrelated to any current failure going to divert people's attention. He'll immediately leave on a long tour of stump speeches to sell his new initiative. You can count on it being related to social justice though. The Paid POTUS Anus-licker (Reid) will be on hand to promote the legislation in the Senate. It'll be critical, of course, to alleviate some fabricated crisis. The Court Jester (Biden) will probably do his own speechifying tour.
