Who is more likely to discipline members to their own party?

Over the years it seems to me that we have one party that is more likely to censure or pressure members of their own party to resign, while the other party seems to run and defend their fellow members whether they are right or wrong.
 
I don't think this necessarily leans in either direction. The only discernible pattern seems to be the exiling of those who are expendable, and the only temporary distancing from those who still maintain significant political clout until the headlines diminish.
 
None of them. That's why we're in the mess we're in.
