There's one potential interesting part to tonight's "show" - that's seeing the one citizen who actually benefitted from Obamacare sitting up in the gallery beside Michelle.

Re: Are you going to warch the State of the Union?

That's the Super Bowl. :doh

If you don't want to watch just for the commercials then perhaps you want to play State of the Union Bingo instead? :)

I have had a couple radio stations on.....and they keep saying Obama's State of the Union will discuss jobs and of course how he is going to use an EO to up the Federal Minimum Wage.

Its like they dropped all prior reports on his speech being about Inequality. Mentioning he will talk about the economy and getting jobs back.

We know it doesn't matter. It's all BS if he's saying it. He's been focused on dividing the country every day in every possible way.

All those Boycotting.....should contact overseas Media Sources saying they are boycotting. No tuning in.....to send a message to Obama and to the MS Media. This way.....ours can't try and hide the fact. Or why!

Re: Are you going to warch the State of the Union?

That a significant majority(73.7%) of honest members? .. ..or scammers? ... declare this "non-watch of Our Presidents address" , I find to be disturbing.
Are so many of us full of hatred and fear ?
I think not.
I prefer to think is a problem of "run-away dishonesty " .
But how to deter the scammers ?

As painful as it will be to sit through this SOTU, I'm going to watch it. I want to see the reactions of those on the left and the right to Obama's comments especially if he has the audacity to blame Republicans for his failed policies. And if he continues to threaten over-riding Congress with his pen to get what he wants, I'm afraid there will be a visible reaction from the Speaker of the House seated directly behind him and others present. It could get ugly. This guy thinks he is a king. I am also looking forward to the rebuttal to be given by the highest ranking female in the People's House, Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington. Already outlets like Time are claiming she is a dull speaker, while most have never even heard of her. But then again these were the same bunch that made a big deal out of Rubio taking a drink of water during his rebuttal and when Jindal gave his, the MSM called it flat. They don't tend to focus on their message but attack the messenger personally.

"Full employment "
This will not be until our education and job training are bought up to 21st century standards..
We have jobs that go begging for QUALIFIED applicants and , at the same time we have 10 applicants(qualified) for one position...
Industry, the unions, the people, and government MUST work together..
If we do not know how to do this "team effort", we can ask China, or Germany, or France for help ...

Sickening, isn't it? :2mad:

How is it scamming if it is not watched live? "Live" being the key word.

Yep. My guess the write ups about "dull" McMorris-Rodgers is to encourage folks not to bother listening to the rebuttal. For in doing so, it may give some fruit for thought and they don't want people thinking too much. ;)

I would luv to see all the Tea Party members stand up and start walking out.....Right when he starts talking. Now that would be something for the ratings, huh?

MSDNC and the MS media would go bonkers.

That would be fun to see!!!

Sort of like Yogi said ...

Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.

No that was his brother, Yogi.

You might also know their cousins Darryl, Darryl and Darryl and their other cousins George Foreman Jr., George Foreman III, George Foreman IV, George Foreman V and George Foreman VI.

I will find it funny when 77% of people say they will not watch the SOTU address but come tomorrow 90% will be talking about it.

We're talking about it in advance to avoid the necessity of talking about it later. I will be watching reruns of Honey Boo-Boo and Duck Dynasty, which will have approximately the same content value.

There will be talking about it later. That's not going to be avoided. Most people won't watch it, but they will be upset or cheering for it by the little clips and quotes they read from it by "non biased" sources.

Exactly where does one find those "non biased" sources? My search for these elusive sources has gone galactic. I'll satisfy myself by making comments on the comments here in this instance. Truth and politics don't occupy the same territory.

You need to use the process of elimination. Find the sources on the far right and read them. Find the sources on the far left and read them. They will both be 100% wrong. Then you can tell what was NOT in it. From there you can probably figure out what was actually said.

I agree, and I have done just that. It's a lot of reading sometimes, and it's hard to read some of it with a serious, sober attitude. I know that if I listen to this speech, I'll just get seriously irritated, and I generally avoid that these days simply because I'm 64 and have been irritated enough already for one lifetime. Sometimes I turn the television on, mute it, and fill in the words myself to music. Far less stressing...

Re: Are you going to warch the State of the Union?

It's going to be another "shovel-ready" performance. Get your shovels ready.

Re: Are you going to warch the State of the Union?

Probably not. He has no credibility and will just be lying, spinning, demonizing and threatening to shred the constitution with illegal executive orders the whole time.

I can't decide if I'll watch it or not. Probably have it on in the background while I work on the MAME machine.

We need to go back to when the SOTU was just a letter the president sent to congress.

I vote for this too. The SOTU probably costs us taxpayers a LOT of money for something that does nothing to inform us of what state the union is in, but provides the President a bully pulpit for still another campaign speech he can expect to be covered by all the networks and cable news channels.

You could watch it rather than rely on sources.
