My "duty?" LOL. I never signed up for that. My passport says "United States of America." That makes me American.
You went to America at a very early age and can speak perfect American English, which makes you American. But take the Green Card Americans for example. Is the passport enough to make them "real Americans". No, because they have a language barrier, which stops them from communicating "in depth".
So while you might think people like me are less American, the law does not agree with you, and you just show yourself to be a bigot.
So I did. One thing to mind was that America is a civic nation while I was thinking more of an ethnic nation.
