So again, who is it that specifically agreed to use tax money for other people's children's transportation, or is this just something *YOU* want and you think everyone should agree with you?
Yes, I want it because someone paid for me to ride a school bus. As a teacher, that same thing should be done for my students. It is a hardship for most middle class people to pay over $10,000 dollars for their child to ride a bus because (what amounts to a cheap cup of coffee) $2.50 is too much to ask to pay it forward. That kind of mentality will take this country down.

Using volunteers as drivers? Sure, car pools can be looked at. There are probably many other areas as well if you put more thought into it.

I judge California's economy not by how much free stuff illegal aliens are getting in California but by how thick my wallet is and it's a lot thinner today than before Gov. Moonbeam (D) came around.

What about the Democrats/California bebt ? Not just the $132 BILLION DOLLAR state debt but the $848 BILLION DOLLAR state wide debt ?

The Democrats have controlled the State Legislature for years and besides of taking away Californians personal freedoms, they do as they are told by the public service employee unions. And to pay for what the unions want, it's spending money you don't have and then raising taxes and fees.

Volunteer bus drivers? Our district has a hard time finding ones you pay because they need clean driving records and background checks, but I suppose regulations are bad too.

Who is asking anyone to pay $10,000 to ride a bus? Why are you just making up figures? Produce any evidence whatsoever that any town in America has asked any parent to pay $10,000 for their child to ride the bus to school for a year. It's nonsense.

I never once rode a bus to school, it was always either my parents driving me to school and picking me up or paying someone else who had a car to drive a bunch of people to school and bring them home. Why are people so bloody lazy these days?

I don't know about the US, specifically, but the human race is going to do just fine. History has been a fairly steady march from barbarism towards civilization, from oppression and violence towards peace, equality, and freedom. Ignorance diminishes and learning flourishes. I think the future is going to be pretty cool. Just like today is pretty cool compared to the past.

Our science and technology will allow us to live healthier and safer lives in more abundance. We will discover things about the world, the universe, and ourselves that we never imagined. Our philosophies and then our laws will become more tolerant, more inclusive, and more rooted in kindness rather than fear. We will evolve into better creatures.

That's about how much it would costs by the time the child leaves school. That money is an awful lot for the average middle class family to pay just for transportation.

I didn't have both parent working either, but that's not the norm in this day in age.

My kids don't ride the bus to school and both of their parents work. Try again.
